Nightvalley is a rather reserved and quiet Toto, who lives in one of the many forests of Elyxium.
It turns to stone over the day and uses this time to meditate as a form of sleeping to rest and refresh its strengh. When nighttime sets in, it roams the forest, protecting it from anyone with ill intent that would harm the place and its inhabitants.

Backstory

Past Life

Before Nightvalley was reborn as a Toto, it lived as a Human soldier. It was during the time, where humans managed to synthetically create a bioweapon, the Aphex, fighting among and against them in a war that seemed not only endless but also pointless.

When it managed to get some time off during this time, Nightvalley loved to spend it within nature, away from all the insufferable noise of the war. There it was mostly quiet, silence broken only by the sound of rustling leaves and birds chirping along to an unknown tune only they knew.

Nightvalley died in one of the many fights of the war, regretting to have taken so many lives of other living beings, that it wasn't able to have spend its life in peace and being able to grow old.
All these wishes and regrets manifested inside its soul, and though it might not have any memories of its past life as a Toto, the urge and intensity of them still reside inside it.

Reborn as a Toto

When Nightvalley opened its eyes for the first time as a Toto, it was surrounded by creatures and critters mustering it with curious eyes, cautiously and shy, but with seemingly no fear. It quickly grew fond of the forest life, the creatures living there becoming its family and the forest its home.

Nightvalley swore to protect this peaceful place, that greeted it with so much kindness, with its life.

Current Date

Nowadays Nightvalley lives a content life as a guardian of the forest it calls home.

Due to the affliction of a gargoyle statue, it turns to stone when hit by the rays of the sun. While not being completely unable to move in this state, it takes up an immense amount of energy to do so. This doesn't bother Nightvalley though. It uses the time to meditate during the day, falling into a kind of slumber or rather trance, similar to sleep, that helps it refresh its energy, but also to contemplate about the restlessness, which is faintly but noticeably stirring inside it.

Personality

Nightvalley is a very calm and collected Toto. It rarely looses its temper even in extreme situations. It doesn't talk much if not necessary and usually keeps to itself, but does like the company of the animals inhabiting Elyxium and a few other selected beings like Aquamarine.
It is very protective of its friends and family. Though it does not have any restrains with exerting violence when needed, it usually refrains from taking someones life if it is avoidable.

Being quiet in nature, Nightvalley mostly keeps it's thoughts to itself. It is a thinker and introspective, often thoroughly analysing it's surroundings. It has a neutral unbiased view on everything new, opinions and situations alike, thoroughly gathering information before forming it's own view on things.
It moves smooth and quiet like a panther, usually avoiding to make any loud noise or gain someones attention on accident.

Besides these aspects that might make it seem intimidating at first glance, Nightvalley is actually a kind soul who aids beings in need without hesitation.
If you manage to befriend it, you've gained a friend for life.
