A promising chemist with a talent for materials science, his life drastically changed when his partner was the victim of a raid on the lab she worked at, resulting in her falling into a comatose state. Drenched in anti-matter, the Orokin saw fit to test out a new Warframe design.
Proving successful, the Orokin paraded it at the various facilities in the area the raid took place at. Enraged by the Orokin's presumption, Marek took the particularly caustic vial of acid he was handling that day, and flung it into the face of the Executor that was showing the Warframe off.
Of course, no act of insubordination goes unpunished under Orokin society. Especially one that targeted an Executor, particularly one of the Seven.
Marek was seized and subjugated to the Warframe program, transformed into the Warframe Lavos. However, his process differed from most: he was tormented so that he was left with enough sentience to be aware of his new reality, but not enough to act upon it.
Marek spent the following years—centuries—in a haze. Only far after the Collapse, when his components were put back together, and alongside a new "Operator" does he begin to regain autonomy and heal.
