Geode has never been afraid of the dark. He would dig around for hours in the dirt near his home, trapping bugs in glass jars and cracking open rocks juuuuust in case they held precious stones inside. He'd venture farther into nearby caves than his parents were comfortable with and come out blabbering excitedly about what creatures he'd spotted and what the cave soil was like. He was never your "typical" kid.
Even though he was never quite "typical" (whatever that means), he never expected himself to become involved with a terrifying misadventure involving an underground elitist society and an ancient, magic-infused relic he had dug up while gem-hunting. But these things happen, I guess. He's just going to keep on going.
- Originally, Geode was created for an OTA, but I liked him so much I decided to keep him
- One day, I had the idea for a geologist and botanist ship, and I couldn't help myself
- Geode was named not only for his coloring, but also his personality - he seems bland on the outside, but has a colorful personality underneath :)
It takes a special kind of person to do the kind of thing that Geode does every single day. He's incredibly intelligent, dedicated, and passionate about the things he does. He pours much of his time and energy into being the best that he can possibly be, which makes him an excellent gemologist, but leaves him a bit "stunted" in other areas.
Geode often has trouble picking up on others' emotional states. He doesn't often know how to comfort others when they're sad, or how to make meaningful conversation with a stranger. He shows love almost soley through exchanging touch with those he cares about, but doesn't understand how to any other way. He can often come across as cold and uninterested when speaking, but a simple brush of his talons over his friends' shoulders tells tem that he loves them all the same.

Sprouts is Geode's very best friend. Geode loves him like no one else. Sprouts is someone he can tell anything, no matter how "nerdy" or small.
(If Geode were honest with himself, he'd admit that he has a liiiitle bit of a crush on his bestie. But Geode isn't going to be honest with himself for a while yet!)

Geode didn't know Cozy before he met him through Sprouts. But now that he's met him, Cozy holds a very special place in Geode's heart. Geode enjoys Cozy's casual company, especially when he comes over to his lab to crotchet while Geode works.

When Hope first started dating Cozy, Geode was worried about a new addition to their group that didn't quite fit in. But Hope fits perfectly into their dynamics, and Geode has built a relationship with her outside of his relationship with Cozy. Geode loves her cookies.

Geode doesn't know Gossamer very well, but he's extremely excited to get to know him better! He's never met another caver before and is super excited to show off his collection. He doesn't seem to notice how Gossamer treats his other friends, though...
