BACKSTORY:

Gabriel grew up in a remote northern village called Frenglia. One day, he saved a travelling merchant caravan from wolves, but was badly wounded in doing so. The merchants took him to their home city to receive medical attention. However, Gabriel developed a serious infection from the wolf bites and quickly deteriorated. The head doctor ordered for him to be turned into a vampire, believing it was his only chance of survival.

After a rough transformation, Gabriel took time to get used to his new condition. His days spent wandering the city of Borealis convinced him that he wanted to travel and see more of the world beyond his small village, so, after returning to explain things to his family, he packed lightly and left on the first of many adventures.

Gabriel is a polite and soft-spoken man. He is courteous to everyone, even enemies and people who have offended him. He doesn't swear and tries very hard not to raise his voice. However, his careful manner also means that he's not very exuberant about positive things and can come off as stoic. He is not particularly emotional, but nor is he cold.

Gabriel enjoys helping people. He considers himself lucky to be alive, and wants to return the gift of life by doing good deeds for others. He'll even put himself at risk to save a stranger. He does not, however, lack self-preservation. Despite his desire to help everyone, he won't always step in if the situation looks too dangerous and he doesn't believe that his intervention would make enough difference to be worthwhile.

Gabriel is notable for his lack of close relationships, although he claims to have many friends around the world. He is quite introverted and does not like spending too much time around others or forming committments. He is happiest when alone in nature, though does enjoy meeting new people.

DESIGN:

Gabriel is a tall, well-built man with wavy blond hair and a thick mustache. His hair reaches almost halfway down his back. Like all vampires, he has red eyes and slightly elongated, sharpened canines. His ears are pointed due to him being elven. He has a large, hooked nose.

Gabriel's bow, which he nearly always carries, is enchanted and can imbue its arrows with fire, ice, wind or light at the push of a button.

ABILITIES:

Gabriel has the same general abilities as other vampires in my world. These include high strength and reflexes, powerful healing, and the ability to shapeshift into animals. His preferred animal form is a blue jay.

His healing ability allows him to recover from most injuries, no matter how severe, with no lasting damage. However, he can't completely regrow missing body parts - and as such, being decapitated or losing vital organs would kill him. Wood is poisonous to him. Sunlight and garlic have no effect.

Gabriel is an immensely skilled archer. He is also very agile and acrobatic, capable of doing backflips and other manoeuvres with ease.

TRIVIA:

- Experiences side effects due to being an elf vampire (only humans are meant to be Turned). Most notably, he cannot stomach large amounts of blood - drinking too much at once causes him to feel dizzy and nauseated.

- If he sits quietly for long enough, birds tend to land on him.

- Can whistle extremely well, to the point of being able to mimic some bird calls.
