Likes

Yellow

Despite living in a plain sad cosmos that barely has more to offer than all shades of yellow, it still is her favourite colour.

Sweet & Savory food

The downside of growing so fast is the sudden increase of energy that a body requires to keep up with all the changes. No. 6 can get incredibly annoying if anyone around her is eating something but not willing to share.

The Sun

The one and only star that always helps her to find a way back home.

Adventures

Whether it be testing the limits, stepping across the borders of hell or doing something illegal- No. 6 usually gets a thrill out of anything provoking. She's got a bit the spirit of a hedonist.

Dislikes

Loud Sounds

No. 6 despises any loud sound. If anything around her gets too loud her sensitive antennas immediately block the bio sonor to prevent further irritation. This usually leads to a really bad headache regardless.

Music

Not all music, but enough music to generalize it. Most music just sounds and feels incredibly annoying to her.

Sand

Living in a deserted wasteland full of contaminated sand makes it feel like a prison. Sand, no matter if contaminated or not, always makes her feel highly restricted.

Humans

For no specific reason. They just appear helpless and fragile to her.

Summary

childhood

Six's early childhood was marred by the harrowing events of the Great Conquest. This event marked one of the the darkest chapters in the history of the now Vespidian Empire, coinciding with the shattering of the Hymenopteron Pact. It all began with a mysterious stranger who clad in the humble attire of a worker. For weeks, or perhaps even months, she carefully observed the Crabron tribe, studying their routines and rhythms, and gaining an intimate understanding of their inner workings. With this insider knowledge, the stranger seamlessly blended into the Crabronian social fabric, building trust, and orchestrating a coup against the reigning Queen. It was no battle, but a calculated execution.

For the first time, an outsider, who was a foreigner to the tribe, seized power and held the throne. But the Crabrons didn't take it lying down. According to their tradition, killing the royalty had to take place in combat and couldn't be carried out by outsiders. The Stranger's unconventional approach of killing without combat, however, didn't sit well with the tribe, as they disagreed with this departure from their established customs. The allies of the stranger, who had been lurking in the shadows, quickly sprung into action. Their forces were ruthless, taking down dissidents in the system they had just taken over. Despite their technical superiority in one-on-one combat, the Crabrons had little chance against the overwhelming numbers of Vespids who had infiltrated their tribe. The attackers had an eightfold advantage and mercilessly overwhelmed the Crabrons, whose resilience and bravery ultimately led to their downfall. Few managed to escape, some others surrendered, but the majority were killed.

Despite all the death and devastation, the seizure of power by the stranger is remembered by most as a decisively positive event. In the Empire, the so-called Yellow Day is celebrated as a holiday. Among the few surviving Crabrons who were old enough during the event, hardly anyone dares to speak of the atrocities, leaving the younger generations completely unaware of the bloody foundation their empire is built on.

For Six, the memories of that time are hazy, as she was only five years old during the upheaval. Her earliest memories are blurred with yellow, the color that has dominated her world since then. As one of the few surviving Crabrons who was not killed and the sole contender for the throne of the shattered tribe, Six continues to be considered a potential heir to the Imperial Throne.

Adolescence

As she grew older, Six became increasingly uncomfortable with her situation and attempted to escape the heavily guarded dome several times. She dreamed of leaving the kingdom and exploring the world beyond. As a Crabron, Six was physically superior to the Vespidian workers in charge of controlling her. The only reason she was allowed to live was due to the peculiar curiosity of the reigning No. 1, who wanted to see how much their species could adapt and change when raised by Vespidians. However, when Six's attempts to escape became too frequent and successful, the High Council decided, with the Queen's consent, to entrust her to the care of a once-great necromancer for further training. Six is the only Vespidian who has been sent outside of the Hymenopteron Pact for training by a demon.Thore took on the task of training Six alongside Alva and Kate. Since the demons of the Hymenopteron Pact were once banished, they tend to stick together. The Vespidians are the only ones who maintain close contact with the rulers of Hell, with each party pursuing their own political interests. Thore had never before had such close dealings with the Vespidians. However, the peculiar assignment intrigued him, particularly the aspect of the social experiment that Six represented. The magical abilities of the Vespidians and Crabrons function differently from those of more familiar demon races. At first, Thore struggled with the task of training Six, but he somehow managed to keep the bright demon in check. The positive influence Six had on Kate was another factor that motivated him to provide her with a relatively good education using alternative approaches.

Adulthood

When she returned home after completing her training, a lot had changed. While her siblings had begun to compete for the throne, officially opening the battle for it, Six once again realized how much she enjoyed life outside. When Six went to speak with her queen without authorization, a dispute arose between the two. No. 1 criticized No. 6 for her lack of interest in culture and respect for her people, and revealed that she was only still alive because the experiment was still running. Seething with anger, Six began attacking the queen, and a battle ensued. No. 1 had to realize for the first time that Six was dangerously equal to her. Both were seriously injured in the fight, but the natural healing ability of the Crabrons gave Six a significant advantage. Consequently, she was able to quickly get back on her feet. When she was fit enough to leave her bed after three days of rest, she found that her remaining "siblings" and queen had disappeared. In theory, Six would be the new queen from here on. However, there was great uncertainty due to the mysterious circumstances. Without a No. 1, the kingdom could not be ruled, but Six also did not feel capable of fulfilling the duties of a queen for the rest of her days.

Since the fight with the missing No. 1, Six has grown in size and, as is customary for the queens of her kind, developed another pair of arms. Six finds this to be a strange coincidence, as she knows that No. 1 did not die that day. At least she is sure of that. Together with her friends No. 21, Kate, Simone and Alva, she tries to solve these and other questions.

Despite having a good start, their friendship went downhill when Alva tried to use their company to step foot into the deserted wastelands of hell's border, where the Vespa Infernalis live. With the goal to exploit some information on what the f these demonic wasps are doing there, Alva didn't manage to gain anything but distrust on that mission. They may not trust each other that much anymore, but Six still considers Alva a friend.

Simone

friend

Their friendship is based on the life-saving measures Six did for Simone when she found him in the contaminated wasteland. The event led to a short but stormy affair and, later, unwanted parenthood. With all awkwardness aside, this man is one of the few, if not the only human beings Six somewhat respects. (Although it is also because of him that she believes humans are fragile)

No. 21

best friend

Twenty-One went through a lot after Six learnt about their secret. Once Six helped them to gain consciousness about the enormous freedom they have, Twenty-One first was incredibly scared to become a deviant. Many hours went into thinking, and the times they hung out helped the worker to cherish their new worldview. Twenty-One dearly appreciates their friendship, and so does Six.

Ex No. 1 (status unclear)

family/ enemy

The strict hierarchies in the society of Vespa Infernalis never allowed them to get really close. Thus, Six first believed she was a direct descendant of No. 1, which is a logical assumption considering she holds the status of an aspirant. Only after years of living outside the state for schooling she noticed the significant differences between the other aspirants and her, doubts growing slowly. This is not her mother. This is an intruder playing queen.
