Dionysia is a massive lion’s mane jellyfish woman, from the cold depths of the north blue. Her large, elegant stature and paralyzing gaze make her an intimidating woman, but in reality she’s rather reserved. Shockingly, she doesn’t prefer to be the center of attention unless commanded by her very few superiors amongst the Blackbeard crew. She’s an amazing belly dancer and often is commanded to entertain crew or guests with a performance.
While she does lead a life on her own, with “her girls”, she is at the beck and call of Catarina Devon. She yearns for Devon’s approval and affection so deeply she’s apt to do about anything for it. There are few to no things too cruel, in her eyes, for her to do to earn it. The relationship is one sided in this devotion, but it’s still clear to any passerby that Dionysia belongs to Devon. She adorns her in fine gold and jewels and Dionysia often accompanies her on traveling missions.
She is the head of a collective of fish women and mermaids, “her girls“, that are known as the maenad pirates. They’re less of a pirate crew and more a nomadic matriarchal society centered around Dionysia. Regardless, they’re a violent bunch and are known for sinking ships and feasting on the seamen from the wreckage. Dionysia is the leader in combat as well as the spiritual leader. She possesses knowledge that gives her access to elemental magic, water bring her strength and focus. She is also capable of astral projection.
