Due to an unfortunate string of deaths of their loved ones, Wailingwind is convinced they have a banshee's curse, and their love is an omen of death. So they close off all emotion and interaction to prevent more cats from dying, and furthermore, save themself from the pain of losing them.

Wailingwind is a very reserved cat, to the point of being a village oddity. They are seen in glimpses and small moments of interaction. They keep to themself as much as possible, spending little time in the village. This distance from others for so long has led them to becoming quiet inept with interacting with others, ending up presenting blunt and uncaring. When speaking they use very few words, always thinking deeply about their responses and questions before speaking, often thinking more than necessary. They rarely express their true emotions, keeping a blank, empty gaze. Their makeshift veil is meant to help this, keeping cats from reading them and distancing themself from others.

Under the surface, Wailingwind is severely lonely, but will never allow themself the companionship they yearn for. Despite their inexpressive exterior, in their core they’re very empathetic and they care deeply those they care about. Though after years of suppressing their true feelings to remain distant, they have trouble expressing this facet of themself.
