Backstory: Contessa’s early life is shrouded in mystery and this is how she likes to keep it. Claiming to be a Duchess from France, she showed up in the Eastern USA back in the 1800s. She enchanted a very wealthy man and soon found herself married and settled into life in a beautiful manor house, with everything she had ever wanted in life.
Or so she thought.
Though she cared for her husband, she quickly became smitten with his Maid, and the two began an affair. This continued on for a time until shortly after her son was born, and her husband discovered her ‘sinful’ nature. Feeling she had little choice, she killed him, collected every thing of value she could carry and fled with her lover and infant son out west.
There, she adopted her husband’s persona, taking her lover as wife and mother to her child. This ruse continued for four years, and in that time ‘Duke Contess’ managed to accumulate quite the amount of property and wealth, playing benefactor and proprietor of a booming town during the gold rush.
Unfortunately, the guilt of what had occurred to her former husband ate at the conscious of her wife, and when she ‘found God’, she revealed her secrets to the local preacher, whom did not bite his tongue. Contessa was outed and died at the hands of an angry mob.
In Hell, she found her way as she always had learned to do, climbing the social ranks and ridding herself of anyone who might get in her way. She quickly gained territory through force and wit, and became known as ‘The Duke’ out of both spite and respect.
Personality: Contessa is quick to fly into a rage when pressed, and she is never squeamish about handling her competition in a brutal and efficient manner. Her favorite method of disposal is dismemberment, and though not a cannibal herself, she has extensive ties in the Colony.
