Nebula

nebula | she/they, mainly. | the child of altalune, god of the moon - wife of astrid, and mother to nova. she is the goddess of the stars, currently seeking a slightly early retirement - due to this, she is training her child nova to be the heir to the throne very early.

- she is half .. goat? horse? due to her mother, altalune, being a centaur. her form likely inspired the constellation of capricorn and maybe pisces, while her mother inspired saggitarius.

- she has a shark-like tail. except it's also sort of fluffy? huh.

- she has four sets of eyes, but the second set is almost always closed as opening them probably only happens when she is using a lot of her power. most people just think that the closed second pair are eyewrinkles.

- the stars and moon ( of which she has powers of both bc .. daughter of moon goddess. goddess of the stars ) are associated with death, rebirth, afterlife, illusion, dreams, memories, and other things. so her magic probably relates to this.

in creation mythos, it is implied that altalune cut off a large mass of her hair in order to make nebula - this is why the two look so similar. nebula herself did a similar method with nova by in most versions of her tale making nova from a shooting star - many versions of this tale tell different ways of how nebula did it, but its either that she made him out of the asteroid itself or made him within the asteroid like an egg. it has never been confirmed - not even to nova or nebula themselves - whether this myth is real or not.

she often makes constellations and stars based off of people she's known - whether through tales real or fake or through people she actually has known in life - an especially easy to spot similarity is how many of the constellations are based on gods. for example, saggitarius is based on her mother, the moon god, altalune - since she's a centaur. leo is based on the sun god, capricorn ( and possibly pisces ) are made after herself, etc etc. other times its literally just her making random shit and letting people see it and form their own ideas on what it is themselves.
