| A long time ago, Iris, who went by Ira as a mortal, lived in a small village with his loving family. His family were merchants often helping the village farmers sell items in the next town.
One day, while running errands for his parents, attacked by a group of ruffians. Despite his best effort to fight back, Iris unfortunately was struck and was left for dead. On the verge of dying, his life was saved by a warm light and something sweet tasting. Ira felt his body change and his wounds heal, but he was still very weak and blacked out. Moments later, Ira awakened in an unfamiliar place. His body still ached, but he was alive... somehow. He was greeted by King Freyr and was given the name "Iris". Though confused by the name change, Iris was grateful that Freyr saved him, but soon started to feel bitter towards the Dream King. As time went on, Iris discovered that he and other children were given dream nectar to become áflar and prevented them from returning to the mortal realm. Researching into the nector, he realizes that both powers of dreams and nightmares can help him jump between the mortal realm and the dream realm. Iris made it his mission to sneak into Dökkálfheimr to steal the nightmare nectar from Lady Freyja. Though both rulers tried to stop him, Iris was successful and drank the nectar in front of the dream siblings. His body changed to be a hybrid of both types áflars, who now has powers of dreams and nightmares. With his metamorphosis complete he fled the dream realm back into the mortal realm. The first thing he did was to return to his family only to find his village destroyed and his family dead. Not wanting to return to the dream realms, Iris wandered the other mortal realms only to find a mystical Fae, named Solaria. Her kindness and her motherlike charms took pity on Iris, letting him stay with her since he had nowhere else to go. For centuries, Iris remained by Solaria's side until war broke out between her and Lunaria. As Solaria's body became ashes, Iris vowed to help guide her descendants help bring peace between humans and faes, even if it meant killing the Fae of the Moon. Iris now follows Mika, as she is currently Solaria's descendant. Guiding and protecting her along her journey. |
