Streets

Pip was orphaned very young, so they don’t remember their parents. They evaded the foster system and grew up on the streets of New York, and grew close with another man on the streets named Shawn Nelson. They also made friends with a girl named Bree when they were young, who inadvertently taught them to still have a playful and somewhat caring nature despite all the things that had happened to them, but they fell out of touch later as she had to move away. Pip became proficient at stealing things to get by, as they didn’t really have any other choice. Shawn was a weaker/unpracticed mage and eventually tried to show and teach magic to Pip, who could sense and feel magic but didn’t really understand and couldn’t quite grasp the idea of it.

Awakening

One day a 16 year old Pip stole a valuable-looking stone from someone whom they didn’t know was a mage. As they touched it it was accidentally activated and sent them both back in time, in which the other unsuspecting mage was killed. In sending them back, Pip was forced to see magic for what it was and had their awakening, which was good because they then had to figure out how to use the stone to send themself forwards to their present. Once they did get back, and unsure of what to do with the Time Stone and admittedly a little intimidated by it, they left it alone for a bit, but curiosity killed the cat. Once they got the hang of it, they used the Time Stone for their own gain, but quickly learned that it left the collective consciousness the same even if things had physically changed. They used it to fuck around with people and enjoyed the reactions and confusion it got. Thus, creating or at least contributing to the Mandela Effect.

About four years later, Pip’s Time Stone was stolen from them. They’ve since been looking for it and trying to figure out who it was and how to get it back, which includes delving into and learning about mage society a bit more.

About a year later, and about a year before the story starts, Pip came home to the apartment they shared with Shawn one day and found Shawn dead. Any normal person or forensics team would say it was the classic symptoms of a heart attack, but Pip could sense the magic left over and knew it was an attack from a mage. Who and why? They didn’t know.

Cabal

Pip stumbled across Damian one day on the streets of New York and decided to help him out. After Damian told Pip of his ambitions and goals and gained Pip’s trust, they told him about their own, and they vowed to help each other. Damian then moved in with Pip for convenience’s sake.

Trivia

• Pip is witty, snarky, charismatic, crafty, self-serving, protective, confident, manipulative, mischievous, flirty at times, slow to trust, and most of all a little shit.
• She is proficient in the Time sphere of magic especially.
• Their Avatar takes the shape of a Dzulúm from Mayan folklore, a gray jaguar with a mane of white fur.
• Pip is quite territorial of his home and does not like letting strangers into it. However, if his friends are in his home, he will be extra protective over them, more so than usual.
• Pip is vulnerable to fae blood, as it can weaken or even injure him.
• They believe that the Time Stone gave them the power to use runes like the one etched onto it, and that that is why they can use magic.
• They are bisexual with a preference for women.

Design notes

• She has a range of style but prefers to wear yellow, orange, brown, gold, and black. Rarely ever seen not wearing yellow.
• Seldom wears makeup other than eyeliner.
• She is heavily inspired by I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME songs, with her main theme being "Do It All The Time."
