Once upon a time, there was a prosperous kingdom ruled over by a kind and noble king. He was known for his jolly nature, as well as the frequent feasts he would hold- the occassion didn't matter. Perhaps it is only natural that a community of strudels would flourish within the castle, where food and drink flowed freely and frequently. These small creatures could not know of the complexities of the royal court- they could not know that this jolly and well-loved king would be the victim of an assassination, and two children, a son and daughter, would battle over the throne.

It seemed all hope was lost- until the prince's sister came, holding a pot of tea to share with her brother; a floral rose hip, his favourite since childhood.
(When the prince's sister momentarily left, and the prince was alone with his drink, Dianthus managed to travel upon the tea table, and drink the final drop which remained within the prince's cup. She couldn't have known that the tea his sister brought was laced with poisonous aconite. As the prince breathed his last, Dianthus was transformed into a monstrous creature...)
