A tiefling fighter on a journey to prove her worth to her disapproving human family.

Nott nobility: a rich human family of fur traders. Everyone in the Nott family is trained at a young age to be excellent hunters, and by extension excellent fighters. The family lives in opulence in the Notthundra region of the Frozen Pines, which is particularly rich in wildlife. The weather is harsh and cold year round, so fur-lined fashions are a staple and an absolute must. The Nott mansion is the largest home in the Notthundra region, staffed by countless servants and groundsmen and housing the entire Nott family. Lord Rudolph and Lady Erynis are the heads of the Nott family, and the parents of Kletva. Also housed in the mansion are 4 cousin families. The Nott family manages the Notthundra region in a semi-feudal fashion. 


Kletva was born a tiefling in an entirely human family, and was thus scorned at birth. Her name literally translates to “curse.” The family believes her birth to be divine punishment for some long-past grievance performed by their ancestors, and Kletva is thus a threat to the family reputation. The only reason she was not killed was that her parents had been previously unsuccessful in producing a child, and desperately needed an heir. She was hidden away from the world, contained strictly to the grounds of the mansion, and had two caretakers assigned to raise and protect her, as the rest of the family couldn’t bring themselves to do such a thing. Quan, an ex huntsman, taught Kletva to hunt and fight, while Mika, a previously retired maid, taught her the ins and outs of noble hospitality. Everyone hoped that, somehow, the past grievance would be redeemed she would simply become a human, but after 18 long years such wishes never came to fruition. Kletva took it upon herself to protect hers and her family’s reputation by traveling the neighboring countries to spread good will, amass wealth, and help in whatever ways she could. She wears concealing garments like long cloaks and gloves to hide her tiefling heritage to the best of her ability. Quan travels with her as her chaperone and retainer. The duo traveled southeast from the frozen pines, making their way across the Great Ring Sea by boat clockwise, stopping at towns along the way. Eventually they arrive in Mzinch, a town rife with prejudice and violence against all non-human races. (This is where my dnd campaign began!)
