About
In the opinion of the Auctioneer, his entire life ended in the moment that it began. One of millions of victims of the Shattering across the realms of the Courte, his soul was split, never to be reconnected. Being a fae with a soul exterior, this led to the body, the heart, the mind, every part of who he formerly was, to be completely torn asunder, dismentled and in need of repair. While the other half slunk away, an emotional husk of want, the smaller fractured creature turned inward to recover away from the world.
His attempt at a recovery was a failure to say the least. To fix something broken, one needs to have the pieces to do so, and while a fractured creature made of soul can attmept to recollect itself, there will always be something missing. The monster restlessly caging himself inside what he once considered a home was missing too much to ever feel content again. He knew he needed something, but didn't know what and had lost the ambition to find it. It almost hurt, how he was so close and yet impossibly far from feeling as if he was real, like he had worth, an impact. He didn't know what he was-- who he was-- and he refused to let others see it.
Someone wouldn't let that stand. A former friend also hurt by the Shattering, newly going by the Ringmaster, pushed back into his life. He carefully watched the morose monstrosity for a little while, not introjecting where he wasn't wanted, before eventually reaching out. He offered the fracture a purpose, a role, something to do that could fill the hole in his being.
The Interdimensional Circus, the greatest dream imagined by the fracture's old friend, sung about at every interaction, an imposibility, was somehow made reality. And the fracture was offered a role.
At first, there was hesitation, but when he was told he could find the fufillment he was missing, he accepted without a second thought. He has never looked back.

The Ringmaster He is an anchor, someone who keeps the Auctioneer grounded when he needs it. Their former dynamic has been heavily skewed, a friendship now turned alien, the Auctioneer accepts the roles they have fallen into. He wants the Ringmaster to succeed and for the circus to survive. He never wants to return to what he had.

The Fortune Teller When the creature the Auctioneer was once apart of split, the two fractured pieces didn't spend much time together before the larger piece dragged itself away. Not long into the Auctioneer's time at the Circus, they were rejoined. They detested each other on sight.

The Ringmaster
While they were friends in another life, they have grown more distant as they both live their second chances. The Ringmaster, while not physically changed, is argueably more of a different person than the Auctioneer. Though he would never admit it the change hurts. It's difficult to tell just by talking to him, but he is one of the most loyal members of the Circus.
Alder King
While he has no love for the child of the circus, he is much, much more patient with the boy than he is other members of the circus. Whether that is because of the nepotism or the past relationship is up to interpretat
The Fortune Teller
The Auctioneer wants to shake this weird cloth and demand "what is WRONG with you? Why are you LIKE this???" Every time he sees this creature he wants to scream. It is made worse by the fact that the Auctioneer physically feels everything the Fortune Teller experiences and vice-versa, it feels like an invasion of privacy.
The Tightrope Walker
He finds xer actiivism soooo annoying, he sees xer as hollow and hypocritical, unaware of how the world around xer actually works. Xe is one of few members of the Circus who was not hurt in the Shattering, which annoys the Auctioneerm openly. Partially because of this misplaced hatred, he has no pity that xe is only there through what boils down to abduction and legal entrapment.
