Appearance

Standing at 6'2" with a lean, toned body, Samsa is an imposing woman. The way she moves is graceful and calculated, her body language exuding confidence in the knowledge that she is better than those around her. Her face bears a certain masculinity, a certain animalistic quality; sharp with strong cheekbones; piercing blue eyes that always aim to study and observe. Something about her is unsettling. She moves, speaks, acts like a predator of the most dangerous variety. Or perhaps it's because she looks just like her father — another dangerous creature in his own right.

She keeps her blonde hair semi-short, cut just a little above her shoulders, and slicks it back to keep it out of her eyes.

Years of education overseen by Dr. Oswell Spencer has left Samsa with a very refined, educated way of carrying herself. She was taught the cutthroat politics of business, knows how to manipulate people, and has no qualms with doing so.

Confident, self-serving; Samsa knows what she needs to do to survive in this world and, unfortunately for those around her, there are few things she is unwilling to do.

Background

EARLY LIFE

Samsa was conceived between two Arklay researchers in 1989, both candidates of Project W; Albert Wesker and Finley Bondevik. While Finn was horrified at the prospect of being pregnant, Umbrella saw an opportunity. They offered to terminate the pregnancy at no cost with full discretion — while in reality harvested the embryo with valuable genetic material. Using technology normally utilized for growing BOWs, Samsa was quite literally grown in a test tube. Rather than wait until she was fully grown and risk of failure, she was infected with a form of the Progenitor, the 'Experimental' Virus, in-vitro.

Samsa was 'born' February 19th, 1991; a healthy baby girl. As she grew under the watchful eye of Oswell E. Spencer, she displayed an extraordinary intelligence —just like both of her fathers — and grew at an increased rate, thanks to her successful adaptation to the Progenitor. Samsa's upbringing was anything but normal, but she was cared for. Alex Wesker took her on as a protégé early on, bringing her up with 'proper' morals and values while Spencer taught her the politics of business. She didn't know a life outside Umbrella.

ADOLESCENCE

Samsa earned her Ph.D. in virology at a young age, as was expected of her. Though she had been taught loyalty to Spencer and Umbrella, she found far more kinship with her aunt. Alex herself was not faithful to Spencer. She had her own goals — but played the part of the loyal dog at his heel no less. Samsa came to appreciate her wiles and worldview; play the part required and be rewarded, yet always keep your cards close.

Spencer fled public view after the collapse of Umbrella in 2003. Without his prying eyes on Samsa, Alex saw it fit to seek out her brother, Albert Wesker, and introduce him to his daughter. They bonded quickly, and Samsa spent most of her teenage years at his at his side, studying and aiding in his research. Occasionally she ducked away with Alex to placate the pathetic, dying Spencer.

As Samsa approached her late teens, Wesker made a proposal — he wished to infect her with Uroboros. It was a selfish pursuit, and Samsa knew it; her father only wished to test if his own genetic material would adapt to Uroboros. She shared half his DNA, after all, and was similarly infected with the Progenitor. Her success spelt his own. With a few hiccups, she successfully adapted — and with some willpower and training, learned to control to it.

REVELATIONS 2

Alex's degenerative illness grew worse as Albert Wesker's sanity waned. Samsa left her father's side to be with Alex and aid her research on Seim Island. When she learned of his death in 2009, she could feel only... pity. They were close in a certain way, sure. But Sam had always known he loved her more than for the opportunity she held, not for who she was. Not that she even really cared. Albert gave her Uroboros: her investment into their relation had yielded results. His death was only a loss of a great mind to her. He was a brilliant man — but he too arrogant for his own good, and had ended up dead because of it. How could he ever think he had the right to become a god? She did not share her father's megalomaniacal mindset, but decided if the opportunity ever came to her, she would earn it.

Samsa aided Alex as she ran her experiment on the members of TerraSave, including Claire Redfield and Moira Burton. She remained trapped on the island after its destruction, sticking by her aunt's side after her mutation, though she grew to be increasingly unstable. It grew difficult to be around her. Though she loved Alex dearly, Samsa realized she was falling into the same trap as her late brother had. It was in her best interest to seek out other options for survival.

Upon discovering Barry Burton's arrival at Seim Island, Samsa purposefuly threw herself in his path. He was a ticket off the island and Natalia was with him. It was a prime opportunity to see if her aunt's mind transfer had truly worked. She spent most of her time with her hands tied behind her back, guiding Burton across the island while playing the part of a low-rank researcher.

After making it off the island, Samsa was taken into custody by the BSAA.

Relationships

Alex Wesker

Alex was more of a parent to Samsa than anyone ever will be. Spencer too controlling, Albert too arrogant. Even when she later met her other father, Finn, he was too distant; too reminded of what Wesker put him through to form a proper relationship with her. Alex had been in her shoes once. She taught her the way of their world and how they could conquer it — together. No one else can fill the gap Alex left after she died, even the.. copy of her that lies within Natalia. Samsa misses her dearly.

Albert Wesker

Samsa was a specimen to Oswell Spencer; a step in his ascension to godhood, a broodmare for the future of humanity, a science experiment. She has no doubt that Albert saw her in a similar light. She doesn't hate him. Hate would imply that she cared or loved him. No, Samsa pities him and his desperate climb to be worth something. He would be no leader of a new world; only an arrogant, angry half 'god', too consumed by his own spite. The world is better off without men like Albert Wesker and those who created him.

Finley "Finn" Bondevik

It's complicated. Samsa first discovered the identity of her 'other parent' while snooping through her father's classified files. Out of all the employee files dated to around nine months before her 'birth,' Finn fit the best. They even had the same nose. A conversation — though Albert treated it like a confrontation — with her father all but confirmed it. She meets him, eventually, after beginning work at the B.S.A.A., but doesn't reveal her identity as his daughter to him for some time. She will never admit how much she craves his attention, his affection — how much she desperately wants him to care about her.
