Oddly enough, not much is publicly known about the life of the Ultimate Knife Thrower prior to his acceptance into Hope's Peak Academy. Sasuke Yanagi, the Ultimate Knife Thrower gained his recognition from HPA for his infamous circus acts around Japan. A master of knives and sharp things alike, Sasuke specializes in the more life threatening knife throwing tricks. These tricks include moving targets, juggling, and most importantly, the wheel of death. He will use an assistant, throwing the knives with deadly pin point accuracy. While his time spent in the circus is estimated to be around four years, Sasuke's life before then remains a mystery.

While his talent may sound intimidating at first, Sasuke himself is a rather innocent and clueless child with a strong curiosity for many things. Initially, with his resting blank stare, he may seem quiet, but once you get to know him, you'll come to realize that he is a child loaded with questions. Sasuke may also come off as mysterious, as he isn't very willing to discuss his life before the circus unless you manage to form a close enough bond with him. To get close to Sasuke, one must have patience, because his English is extremely poor. He'll speak in gramatically incorrect sentences and sometimes, he may even use third person as well. For whatever reason, he has the tendency to refer to himself as his last name, Yanagi. Very rarely will Sasuke actually refer to himself as 'Sasuke,' but he does not mind which name people call him. In fact, he seems to have an indifferent attitude towards many things that most people would see as bad or negative.
