Haycleon

Celestial Bodies

The Star that Haycleon orbits is a massive blue star that radiates an astronomical amount of heat and radiation, which is named 'Mantle'. Every other planet in the solar system of Haycleon has been observed to be a burned out, irradiated husk that has no potential chance of starting life. However, Haycleon has managed to survive despite this. Many people theorize it is either due to Haycleon's rather thick atmosphere, or to both to magic and magnetic field that the planet produces blocking out most of the radiation and heat, or some combination of these things. Any ship that tried to get to Haycleon would have to make sure they have sufficient radiation and heat shielding to prevent catastrophic damage from being suffered. The surface of Mantle is almost eleven thousand kelvin.

Titan is the largest moon and the only one capable of blocking out the sun completely. The moon is roughly two thousand three hundred kilometers in radius and is the farthest natural satellite in orbit of Haycleon and the most well documented and studied. It is a sort of gray-silver color and is very spherical, in fact, it is nearly a perfect sphere though due to the craters and the few mountains it is not completely perfect in shape.

Axis is the middle moon and is roughly one thousand two hundred kilometers in radius and is much mountainous and filled with many more craters than Titan or Vex. Axis got its name due to the extremely peculiar orbit and rotation it undergoes. It is flipped eighty-eight degrees on its side and as a result rotates upwards rather than counterclockwise like Haycleon and Titan. Additionally, this has also caused Axis to orbit in a sidewise loop around the planet that itself is rather imperfect, causing it to sometimes move farther away or closer to the surface at random. It is the leading cause of sudden tidal changes and tsunami's on Haycleon. The moon is colored much like Titan, though with less silver shimmer.

Vex is the smallest moon and tends to constantly be pulled between Titan, Axis, and Haycleon making its orbit unpredictable and hard to path. Recently with advances in magnification technology and study into the solar system, many people have begun to debate if Vex is actually a moon at all, or if it is even a natural satellite due to its odd asteroid-like shape and small size of just over six hundred kilometers. Vex is a very dark brown color much like that of dark chocolate when viewed through a telescope.

One small planet

Haycleon is an Earth-like planet that orbits a blue star that is a little more than two hundred million kilometers away. Orbiting the planet is three moons, Axis, Vex, and Titan. The planet itself takes roughly three hundred and sixty days to orbit the sun and typically has many partial lunar eclipses due to their three moons. Though, total eclipses are extremely rare as only Titan is large enough to fully cover the sun. A day lasts about twenty-four hours and consists of around fifteen hours of sunlight (Give or take the season and where you are on the planet). Due to the multiple moons and their odd shapes, there are a few times a year where you will get sunlight at very odd times.

Haycleon has three large land masses that make up the bulk of it along with many large oceans and a few islands here and there. The planet is about ninety-three percent water and has eight major oceans. Though, some argue it is nine. The three large land masses are known as Arcadia, Vanilow, and Sedar.

Arcadia is the largest, and is very forested and covered in mountains typically getting warm summers especially the more south you get, but also getting much harsher winters than any other continent especially to those who head up north. The feature of Haycleon that stands out the most is its pure white stone that makes up about ninety-two percent of the whole country's stone. This stone is much more structurally sound than the regular gray stone found elsewhere in the world while also being slightly lighter, making it a popular choice for construction projects in Haycleon.

Vanilow is the smallest but most mysterious of the three as the population tends to keep to themselves and doesn't appreciate many outsiders coming in, especially if they are the kind of people who show up and just think they can do whatever they want. Vanilow is full of mystical colors and animal life as well as one of the last few places you can actually find non-Terran species as the Light Mages were never allowed to set foot here after the Void Purge, though these races tend to keep to themselves in isolation from the general population in secluded towns and villages hidden deep in the forests. Vanilow itself has a very strange aura to it, it feels different from the entire rest of the world. These feelings can range from an extreme sense of peace, calm, or uneasiness depending on the person or the location one is in.

Sedar is the second largest and in only slightly smaller than Arcadia. Sedar is a desert wasteland for the most part with small groups of oases here and there. However, Sedar is known for some rather odd temperature fluxations as you travel, with it being mildly hot up north with the temperature going up higher and higher the further south you go until you pass a certain threshold. Whereupon the temperature begins to rapidly dip to the point it becomes more of a frozen desert wasteland, with the south tip of Sedar actually connecting to a massive thick sheet of ice that seemingly expands endlessly nicknamed by locals 'The Sheercold'. While a highly uncreative name most people agree that it is accurate despite that, as temperatures often reach minus ninety degrees Celsius in its center in the winter days.

Countries and Places

ARCADIA

Terra: The origin place for life on Haycleon, Terra is the largest country on Arcadia and the most powerful country too. If not the most powerful nation on the entire globe with their seemingly infinite budget, resources, and vast population. This amount of resources also means there are no homeless or uneducated in Terra, the Monarchy pays everyone just enough to get by. This is to help make sure everyone has a place to live and food but also incentivizes people to pick up a job as they will only ever have just enough to get through the week. Terra is equal parts forested, mountainous terrain and expansive city networks. All of Terra's cities save for the Capital have similar building designs. They are either your standard wooden houses or more square or rectangle designed white stone buildings. While a Monarchal society, the Light Mage Accord has been gaining more and more power as the decades have gone by and practically run, police and govern everything.

NoteWorthy Locations in Terra

Aether: The Captial of Terra with very expensive and uniquely designed buildings. Almost every single one of them is at least four stories tall and made out of metals, typically steel. These buildings are thinner for the first few stories before 'mushrooming' outwards at the top in a spherical or half-dome shape. These buildings have many windows due to a large number of rooms built into the superstructures where many people stay in small but luxurious rooms that tend to have all the necessities one could ever need.

The streets of Aether are extremely clean and well-kept, in fact, finding any kind of litter of debris would be a rather rare sight due to how quickly and effectively things are repaired and cleaned up in the city. The streets themselves are split up into districts, each district has a different colored brick road for everyone to walk along or ride their horses on. There is the trade district which is yellow, the services district which is blue and contains things such as restaurants, schools, taverns, Inns, brothels, hospitals and the like. The civil districts are split into two large quadrants that are green and white, there is no difference between the two aside from one is at the East (Green) and the other is at the West (White). The Industrial district is tucked way in the back Aether to the north-west and is orange, this is where the many factories, water plants, and generators are located for the city. The Monarch district is Red which houses the capital building and most royals and nobles in Terra, along with the Castle and the many barracks that house the main army of Terra.

The people of Aether are all wealthy which tends to give them a bad reputation among those who live outside the city, however, most of them are rather charitable and noble despite their vast wealth and their tax money is what helps pay for everyone in Terra to have access to food and a basic home. That being said culture in Aether tends to be vastly different from the rest of Terra as they still stick to many old traditions, mannerisms and even dialect. Some of the buildings in this city have stood for over two hundred years, and this is the best place to be if you need to trace back the history of the Terrans or anything for that matter, as not only are the people incredibly knowledgeable; their libraries have copies of books that can be dated back over three thousand years ago.

Aether also has access to the most advanced tech in the entire world and is the only place you'd find an airship outside of war times. And is one of three locations in all of Terra to have a train station. The advanced medical science and doctors also mean Aether is the most healthy place to live in the entire planet as well, typical lifespans in Aether tend to be five to ten years higher than other locations in Terra. Crime is surprisingly very low for a city of Aether's size but that is due in part to poverty and unemployment being non-issues and the fact that the Light Mages have eyes and ears everywhere. It is never a matter of if you get caught it is a matter of when you will get caught.

Velris: One of the largest city's in Terra and one of the most socially, economically, culturally, and recreationally diverse city in all of Terra. One-half of the city faces and is surrounded by vast forestry while the second half is surrounded by sheer cliffs and below them a massive oceanfront with a beach and massive dock for ships to come in, the largest dock in all of Arcadia making it a popular point for naval travel. The front entrance of the city has three large pathways that branch off much like a chicken's foot would, and have a few merchant stalls here and there, though, not as many as one would expect due to laws being put in place to not obstruct the flow of people. Down the center path is where most of the trading stalls, shops, and restaurants are situated as a study suggested that around 49% of people pick the middle path first. The left and right paths are home to mostly recreational buildings, schools, and housing. The Center of town is where the most traffic converges since all six paths- (The three from the front and the three from the dockside) converge resulting in mass surges of people, this also where the first businesses were set up to take advantage of this fact.

Near the dockside are multiple beaches and designated swimming locations, along with a scaffolding section to accommodate airships since some people fly in from Aether to come here to do some shopping, visit family or 'just for the hell of it'. The buildings on the outer edge of the city consist mainly of wood in design with the buildings being built out of white stone towards the center of the town. The only exception to this is beachfront property which is all made of white stone to help avoid major water damage if the water levels get too high.

Fields of Catalysts: Massive fields ruined by the Void Incident. A mountain is located in these fields but has been obliterated leaving massive chunks rocks laying around the field. There is no grass and all trees in the area are black, brittle, and twisted. In the sky are massive Void Rips in reality, time and space. They look much like black holes but are much more purple in coloration. Time does not function correctly here and operates at roughly eleven percent normal speeds. Gravity here sometimes increases or decreases at random, and sometimes apparitions of beings will phase into existence for brief periods of time.

There have been reports of beings falling through the portals in the sky. However, most of these beings die on impact with the ground and those who claim to have survived the fall and say they are from another world often vanish with no trace later on.
Genesis Conflux Spire: A location relatively unknown to most people aside from the highest ranking Light Mages and those who they have trusted. The Genesis Conflux Spire is a massive underground location underneath the surface of Terra that is home to a massive spire constructed by the Void Mages long ago. The Spire's purpose is unknown. Surrounding the massive structure is a vast hollowed out earth churned and pushed aside with multiple eleven by eleven-foot cubes suspended in the air that randomly teleport around to form platforms and walkways. Guarding the entrance to the Spire are two massive Automatons nicknamed by the Light Mages 'The Eye of Genesis' and 'The Guardian of the Spire' both of which are defended by the 'Shield of Confluence'. Despite all attempts, the Light Mages have not found a way to defeat these two guardians as they each house one another's shield generator and at the moment none of the Light Mages have the power nor means to deactivate or destroy said shields.

VANILOW

Vanilow: Vanilow is both a country and a continent due to its size, its unity, and the fact people got fed up with distinguishing the country 'Vanilow' and the Continent 'Vanillow' which were for some reason spelled with one extra L. Vanilow is a country of mystery and tradition, it has a completely different aura around the entire area that either seems to fill people with a sense of calm, curiosity, or a slowly growing sense of dread to name a few. The air and aura also seem to make most people feel... 'floaty', their bodies will feel slightly buzzy and they'll seem to have a lot more energy than normal and a greater incentive to do things. The sky even has a slightly purple hue in the sky and the stars are the most bright and clear in this section of the planet. Vanilow is mostly filled with flatlands with hills here and there, very colorful forests and ravines.

Vanilow's city structure varies between the two religious groups who live in harmony and in cooperation, but separately. The first live in burrows dug into the side of hills common in Vanilow where they live in small communities typically consisting of family and a few friends. The second, live in massive cities dug into massive holes in the ground with black metal, their buildings are built into the sides of the holes and suspended in the air in a multi-level fashion with platforms and roads that follow along with the buildings. Obviously, these cities take a very very VERY long time to make since it is a technological and an engineering marvel that these cities work and don't collapse under their own weight and gravity.

NoteWorthy Locations in Vanilow

The Lost Sector: A large section of Vanilow quarantined by the Vanilow Government due to its anomalous and deadly effects on people. The Lost Sector is an invisible distorted forest that is only visible once it is entered, the forest is filled trees that seem to 'bleed' this bright blue neon liquid that is scorching hot the touch but doesn't seem to affect the silver trees what-so-ever. The ground ranches from being covered in dead brown grass to bluish green in places. There are random pieces of massive metal with odd tiny lines covered in some black material with metals inside, different kinds of green boards with lines and bits of metal on them and broken glass.

The further into the Lost Sector one goes the more hazardous things get, skin begins to deteriorate and the mind begins to decay due to some unknown and unseen force. Strange creatures will attack you that seem decrepit and just as decayed and feral as the people who enter can become, and strange automatons that do not seem to be powered by magic. In the distance, people claim to hear some kind of odd faint noise. A low beeping noise, three short beeps, three long beeps, then three short beeps again afterward a fifteen-second delay occurs before the same noise is repeated again. No one has ever gotten close enough to the source of the noise to figure out what is making it. The Vanilow Government has sent around thirteen search times with four times suffering complete casualties with every other team aside from the thirteenth suffering some kind of injury or death.

Recently, it has been noted by the thirteenth team that there was the distant sound of laughing and rambling. When the team went to go see what was going on, a loud feral guttural scream was heard and the team quickly took off. Some speculate this is some new never before seen entity that exists in the lost sector, or that it is the explorer Ashtar who was part of the second team to go in, who came out from the Lost Second as the only survive with a severed foot and arm before screaming and ranting about 'the gods have abandoned us' before suddenly stabbing one of the people on sight in the eye and taking off back into the forest.

As of now, no one is allowed into the Lost Sector for any reason.

Culture

Terra Culture: Terra Culture is highly centered around Light Mages and the Gods they claim to serve. Terran culture highly believes in not questioning your elders or those who have authority over you as it leads to civil war and unrest. Everyone in school is required to learn about Light Magic and the Gods of Terra, even if they do not have Light Magic. It is highly frowned upon to be an atheist in Terra and is not uncommon for you to be disowned or treated like a lesser person for being so.

Terran Culture doesn't have an issue with Terran races nor gender aside from the few extremists you may find here and there, there is a general level of everyone simply accepting one another for their skills in a trade or their physical or intellectual strength rather than gender or skin tone and as far as anyone knows it has always been this way. However, when it comes to other races, not of the Terran variety they are quite hostile and untrusting towards them.

Terran cuisine tends to be highly based around many types of meat typically each meal has one aquatic animal and one land animal with a few veggies and or fruits with a grain. Due to the ancient meddlings of Void Mages Terra doesn't really have its own fruits or vegetables anymore and hardly any unique animals due to the amount dragged in from other worlds that have ruined the food chain something the entire continent is still recovering from.

Terran Society is still strongly rooted in monarchy's and lords with a high sense of class and customs one must uphold. However, in the last few decades, Light Mages have all but taken control of the entire country and the queen but a puppet manipulated subtly to do their wishes and deeds.

Another World...

Tempesis Vessis is a pocket dimension locked down to the world of Haycleon where many non-terran races and the entire remaining Void Order retreated to during the purges. The Pocket Dimension is small and is only about one quarter the size of Sedar, with the edges surrounded by a misty black darkness that no one can physically enter or bypass. There is a large forest that is extremely hard to navigate near the edges of the world that thins out until it reaches the center, where the super-capital city where everyone lives is located.

The sky above was completely black, yet something produced light for everyone to see below. It would eventually vanish now and then much like a daylight cycle back on Terra only the night sections seemed to last much longer and the days, in general, were much longer.

Here was where the races and Void Mages rebuilt and began to plot their revenge, they couldn't go back in time since they were all still anchored to their timeline and moving that many people to an entirely new timeline would be insanely problematic due to all the complications involved with such a process. They decided they'd have to bide their time and siege the timeline they came from when the time was right. However, an issue came to the knowledge of the Void Mages when some research was done into the Pocket Dimension they hastily went inside to escape death.

This dimension couldn't support that many people. It was meant to be small and mostly empty, the sudden addition of so many new entities to keep track meant it began to deteriorate quickly on the scale of worlds, giving them roughly one thousand three hundred to one thousand five hundred years to make their assault on the Terrans to retake their planet before the dimension would collapse and-
Well, they were not sure.
The two biggest theories were they would all be ejected back into their world of origin, or they'd all be erased from existence.

With this ticking time bomb, people began to turn to science and advances in magic, seeing as there was no possible way they could outnumber the Terrans in such a small place nor ever outpace their technological advancements. The only way to beat them was to advance their weaponry as quickly as possible and then strike as hard and as fast as possible and take out the Terran command structure and monarchy in one swift stroke to throw the entire continent into chaos in one swift stroke to secure the victory they needed.

However as the years went by and new technologies kept being advanced it still didn't seem like it was enough, they'd never be able to bring the forces needed to crush Terrans. They only had roughly two hundred years left now and were becoming more and more desperate to find some kind of advancement that give them an edge. That was when a surviving member of the Void Monarchy appeared one day out of nowhere and began to proclaim his project, his project that save all of them from their impending destruction. A bio project that would improve their reflexes, their health, their endurance, their speed, their magic, everything about them would be enhanced. They would not require food or drink, they would never get sick, and they'd never ever need to be healed as their body would do that on their own quickly and effectively. They'd even be able to take in the final Void Path without dying...

His Project was called the Arus Orian Project.
