growing up, jasper had known three very simple truths.
first: he preferred sweet candy to sour, and there was always a hand ready to take the flavors he didn't want. lemon and green apple were easily swapped for strawberry and orange, and he never had to throw candy away.
second: he liked staying inside and sketching while his brother traipsed through the woods behind their grandparents' home. not only was he quick to fall ill, but the thought of a bug landing on his arm was simply horrific.
third: no matter what, if he was alone in the world, he always had his brother. and that was enough. he didn't need anything else.
as an adult, jasper still prefers sweet candy and indoor activities, but there's been one major change.
no matter what, he always has his brother. and that's terrifying.

Appearance
- height. 5'10" / 177.8 cm
- build. slender and delicate! jasper is fairly thin and not particularly toned; his stomach is soft and his shoulders and hips are pretty narrow. though he's tall, he has a more willowy, whispy sort of appearance. basically, he looks like the average person might be able to throw him, but not quite in an unhealthy way.
- eye color. it was naturally a dark, deep brown that almost looked black, but now his eyes are a dark pink.
- hair color & style. naturally black, but almost permanently a light shade of pink. he wears it somewhat curly and a little long on his neck (though not touching his shoulders) with bangs that end just above his brows. his hair is actually permed, since it's naturally straight.
- distinguishing characteristics. his overall soft, pretty, pastel aesthetic is what a lot of people know him for; he’s been mistaken for fae or an angel by people who are aware of the supernatural just because of how Pretty he is. his voice is also very soft and light sounding, which, when compared with his brother's deeper, more monotone voice, stands out quite a bit.
- piercings. visible piercings are his ears: double pierced lobes on both sides, industrial on his right ear, and a few other random piercings in his ears. he's been back and forth about getting a navel piercing.
- tattoos. none yet.
- style. it is Very Pretty, is the best way to put it. he very rarely wears dark colors and favors pink, blue, yellow, and green in particular. he usually layers his clothes (think a lot of cardigans and sweaters), and he LOVES sparkly jewelry. he doesn’t tend to wear super revealing clothes; the most he might show is his shoulders or one of those sweaters with a little heart cut out. basically, just think CUTE.
Mental/Emotional
- personality. to most people, jasper is fairly sweet, if quiet. he's a naturally reserved person who doesn't show his feelings very often if he's not comfortable, and it can take a while for him to feel relaxed around new people. once he's made a good friend though, he becomes more vocal and shares his opinions -- whether he's been asked to or not. jasper is an incredibly stubborn, passionate, and loving person, but he doesn't show it if he's not sure he's safe to. still, once he has a good friend, he'll tease them and give them all the love they deserve.
- positive traits. compassionate, patient, observant, confident, very, very creative.
- negative traits. stubborn, more distrusting than not, has a tendency to be overly critical, blunt, quick to cut people off.
- habits. when heavily stressed, jasper tends to go into an almost dissociative state (this is the best way i can describe it, but it's not dissociation). he's gotten better at managing it, but if there's too much pressure or tension, he's very likely to mentally check out and it can take him a while to come back and be fully present and aware of his surroundings. in terms of daily habits, he usually hums a little and does a little dance when he's cooking, and has a tendency to wiggle in his seat when he's eating his favorite foods.

- misc. information jasper is recovering from an eating disorder. he's managing it better now, but even when he's doing well, it's something he's conscious of. a lot of it actually stems from his initial idea of beauty and how his beauty could make him different from his brother, and while his perception of both of these things has changed a lot and he has a much healthier relationship with his sense of self and food, it may come up from time to time.
