From a young age, Rosetta was exposed to horrific, arcane things in her father's attempts to create the ideal church hunter. Because of this, she can see what the Healing Church tries to hide, and all of the true horrors of Yharnam. Such things have had an effect on her sanity, and Rosetta becomes more and more likely to lose herself.

Rosetta grew up under her father's strict rule and beliefs in the healing church. Since she was little, he indoctrinated her into the healing church's beliefs, and taught his daughters to become healing church hunters too. Because of this, Rosetta grew up hating her father and his cruelty.
By the time she was 16, both of her parents were dead and her sister had joined the church. Unwilling to become her cruel father or pushover mother, she decided to join the Hunters League and put all efforts into helping Yharnam. That was all fine until, at 22, Rosetta's sister and her entire family succumbed to the beast plague from overuse of beast blood pellets.
Now more determined than ever to save Yharnam, Rosetta began to lose her tenuous grip on reality from consuming too much insight, her ability to perform hunter's duties waning.
