Claire is Atticus's ex-wife and oldest friend. Despite being many years estranged, she still hones a both a deep resentment and fondness for him, unable to look away from her past.

Many years ago, during their brief marriage, Claire swore to Atticus that she would never leave him. Although what exactly that promise would later entail for the both of them- is another question entirely. 

Claire is a privately employed Assassin, working only for the highest pay- no matter how dangerous the job. In her youth she used to work alongside both Atticus and Jonah, until Jonah disappeared one day, and things took a turn for the worst. 

Since then, she has become jaded and almost completely unable to trust- putting her entire soul into her work and her work alone. That is, until certain events from her past come crawling back to her-  in the worst way possible.
