Carmen Reyes is an olympic equestrian who is trying to work her way back up to the top. She was hot shit at her last barn, but upon tranferring to this new one she...has a lot to learn. Carmen won't admit it fully but will instead silently try to learn the ropes on her own. She comes from a family of perfection where needing help on something is not talked about. Her geneticist mother and professor father are hard on themselves and their family. Carmen finds a lot of common ground in her two younger siblings; Nicholas and Isabella.

Her perfectionist family is a leading factor into why Carmen lives a secret life. One that she's not even fully aware of - the secret of compulsive heterosexuality. She knew no other way until recently. Carmen had a string of boyfiends growing up but it wasn't until right after high school graduation that Carmen had her first female kiss - with her best friend at the time! That's a story for after Carmen gets a few drinks in her but be nice because she's new to understanding her queerness.

Ever since she was young, when her family was still living in Spain, Carmen was into horses. Thankfully her family allowed her to lease a horse from their local barn before eventually being gifted a buckskin Andalusian horse on her 18th birthday. The horse, Fletch, would become her best friend and eventually they would become Olympic partners.
