Nebaris

Being the daughter of the Phoenix clan’s top general is kind of a huge deal. No pressure. Nebaris was trained in nearly every weapon, sparring until her bones crumbled and having to be healed only to do it all again the next morning. She was poised to become the next greatest warrior of the clan, laying waste to armies of Dragon and Unicorn clan soldiers.

That was, until a sweet little Dragon clan girl had to go and ruin all that.

What would her parents think, seeing her socializing with the enemy? How horrified would they be to know that she went back to that girl, night after night, meeting in secret and talking about their troubles and the pressures of their lives? She’d be killed for treason, surely. But when she saw Klereni as upset as she was, it didn’t matter much to her what her clan thought of her in the end. She would end wars for this girl.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough. The war ended, but not in the way anyone wanted. It ended with the complete destruction of everything, everything they loved and everyone they held dear. Well... at least, not everyone for Nebaris. Her family may be gone, but her love is the queen of the gods, and she, her faithful and loving knight.
