Quirk: Power Band

User shoots powered elastic bands by stretching and releasing them with their hands. Effect depends on the colour of the elastic.

• Green: Speed shot. Adds kinetic force to projectile. Travels the farthest. The most basic shot.
• Pink: Hot shot. Projectile absorbs heat from the environment and becomes a laser-like bullet.
• Blue: Frost shot. Projectile removes heat from the target, causing frost over.
• Yellow: Trick shot. Projectile is hyper elastic and can bounce off surfaces.

User must make skin contact with the elastic with their hands to activate the ability. Strength of a shot is positively correlated with distance stretched and duration of time that the elastic is held stretched out.

Stretching an elastic to its limit and charging a shot for a long duration greatly increases the risk for the elastic to break, causing the ability to misfire and hurt the user.

Shot effects do not cover a large area, making accuracy and rate of fire crucial in combat. Although the user has a larger variety of attacks, the magnitude of power is substantially smaller than that of specialized, comparable quirks (i.e. at its best the power of a Frost Shot is still minuscule compared to an attack from someone with a fully ice based quirk.)

Background

A young woman renowned for her incredibly lazy attitude and for coasting through her classes. Her ability to perform pretty well at school despite her slothful personality is the subject of envy. Some call her a secret genius, others count it as dumb luck (with emphasis on dumb).

Tan Hee might be sluggish but overall she's a positive girl. She tends to make friends with like-minded and shyer individuals who don't mind her lethargic company. She dislikes drama (it's too much of a hassle) and would prefer that people be and let be; this non-judgmental mindset makes her easy to talk to, but also renders attempts to give her well needed life advice moot.

Tan Hee's demeanor is cause for concern for the more attentive teachers. Although she currently maintains average grades, subjects are bound to become more difficult as she progresses in academics: flying by the seat of her pants can only carry her so far. Tan Hee also seems to have no greater plans for the future and fails to apply herself in any substantial way, doing the bare minimum that she can get away with. Her peers loathe her as a partner for assignments, as she's vague about commitments. Quite a few at her school refer to her as "a future burden on society" behind her back...

Despite her vices, Tan Hee does have talents. Her aim with elastics is impeccable and appears effortless. Her fancy trick shot earns her credit from people who would write her off otherwise. She has physical grace, and contrary to her sedentary appearance is rather good at sports. Her athletic capability is often demonstrated when she plays hooky and deftly escapes from teachers trying to drag her back to class.

Tan Hee lives by herself, renting an apartment room close to school. She never mentions family, and is reluctant talk about her living conditions in general. There seems to be more to this simple girl than she lets on...

Miscellaneous

• She studies parkour and is primarily the reason she's still fit. She originally picked it up to avoid teachers and find the best places to lounge (as such she can be found napping on strange places).
• Her hobbies (when she's not just lazing around) includes going to arcades to play claw machines and light shooters, watching anime, and window shopping for toys (stuffed animals, figurines).
• Her favourite genre of music is hip hop.
• She's too lazy to have both eyes open at the same time. She alternates between eyes when one gets tired...
• She seems to have a competitive spirit deep down that shines through in rare moments; she ties her hair to the side, is fully attentive with both eyes open, and her personality does a 180. It's jarring!
