Prvt. Bugs Buggins

Bugs is a Halo/Red vs Blue fan character made with a group of friends. I plan to eventually write a fic about them, but for now, I just have some art and a profile for them. I just thought it would be funny to have a sapient slug that can kill you get dropped into the sim trooper program with some other strange folks and somehow have the highest kill count among trained, military soldiers.

Name: Bugs Buggins

Nickname(s): Bugz, Squishy, Buggy, 'what the fuck is that!?!'

Name significance/meaning: They are literally an invertebrate lol. Nobody thought to give them a name that wasn't so tongue in cheek. 

Gender/Pronouns: Genderless (the species reproduce via parthenogenesis)  They/them pronouns

Age: 3 Earth years???

Sexuality: Asexual. No really they actually asexually reproduce.

Race/Species: Parum amica (common name Pipi Pona : A species of sapient alien gastropods) 

Occupation/Job: UNSC military personnel. Rank: Private | Former laboratory specimen

════★☆★☆[ Physical Info ]☆★☆★════

Physical Appearance: Resembles a colorful multi-legged nudibranch or sea slug with venomous spines. Colored brightly to warn predators of their toxicity. Can squish and contort themselves as they have no bones or hard parts of their body, save for their beak and needles.

Skin Tone: Various shades of purple and pink.

Eye Color: Black beady little buggy eyes. Four of them. Two main body eyes and two eye-stalks.

Height / Weight: 13 inches long and weighs approx. 3lbs. About three inches tall at the thickest part of the body.

Build: Squishy and noodle-like, much like Earth slugs. Very soft and squeezable.

Voice: Can make little high-pitched squeaks, hisses, and 'noots'. Uses an implanted chip to sync up with voice modulator software and speaker to 'speak' English. Does this out of the suit by using a body language to spoken English converter mod. In power armor, they just interface directly with the suit via their brain. Vocal mods vary but they tend to use a deep masculine voice in armor to sell their disguise and avoid detection.

Most Distinguishing Feature: Is bioluminescent and is considered a rather pretty little slug creature. Very expressive with their eye stalks.

════★☆★☆[ Personality Info ]☆★☆★════

Extrovert or Introvert: Introvert, but loves attention on their own time. 

Optimist or Pessimist: True neutral. They have no idea what is happening most of the time and are just along for the ride.

Personality: Bugs is a curious individual that has a bit of a grumpiness streak. They take a while to warm up to people, but when they do they are fiercely loyal and quite willing to kill to protect the ones they care about. They are not hung up on strange, human morals. Instead, they have their own code of honor and respect that they follow that mirrors their species. Pretty much, if you are chill, they will be chill. If you start shit, they will just try and either 1) warn you off or 2) simply kill you. They don't have time to deal with bullshit. They just want to do their gastropod shenanigans, get belly rubs, and eat their watermelons. 

Strengths: Highly toxic in terms of both being poisonous (do not lick them) and venomous (if they harpoon you, you might die, similar to a cone snail). They can squeeze into any space they can fit their beak through (The only hard part of their body). They started to get really good at computers, due to the information jammed into their implant. Can pilot power armor like they were mechs. Able to interface with most technology due to their implant. Pretty darn good at solving puzzles and escaping out of sticky situations. Can read and write/type English.

Flaws: Cannot speak when their implant malfunctions which can be quite frustrating. Since they are so small and squishy, they have real difficulty interacting with the world when not in power armor. Generally clueless about human habits, morals, and social rules. Cannot swim and can drown rather easily. 

Habits: Will often wedge themselves in tight, hard-to-reach places and nap for hours. Will often address other humans with the term 'fellow vertebrate'. Curses often. 

Loves: Melons (the fruit, with watermelon as their favorite), being cuddled, killing vermin, discovering new curse words, rickrolling the UNSC, stealth missions (they are good at those!), and warm weather. 

Hates: Being dry and cold, copious amounts of water, being unable to communicate, being picked up without permission, being woken up, being trapped, and scientists in general.

════★☆★☆[ Background and Story ]☆★☆★════

Bugs is a sapient small alien from a remote rainforest/jungle planet. Parum amica (common name Pipi Pona) are highly intelligent and curious creatures but are also extremely venomous and toxic. The species are omnivores and clever hunters, eating a wide array of food. They are not aggressive or defensive due to being toxic to most predators but will defend themselves in several ways if needed. They like warm and humid conditions.   

Bugs one day found a set of Spartan armor, the occupant long since dead and rotted away. They climbed inside and accidentally activated a distress beacon, which the UNSC eventually came to retrieve. By then Bugs had figured out how to partially use the suit and thus was taken in to be studied. They were outfitted with an implant in their 'brain' allowing full integration into armor for experimentation. They did several things to Bugs, the biggest of which was to info-dump large amounts of information into the implant. This information includes knowledge of language and computers, allowing them to comprehend their captors and communicate with them. When they found out that they were most likely going to be taken apart once they outlived their novelty, they decided to escape. 

They found another suit of Spartan armor being worked on in the labs, which they simply hijacked and took as their own. There, they started to awkwardly pretend to be human, in order to keep away from being put in captivity and poked again. Since they were so weird, it was decided to send them off in another squad to look after some bases. Project Freelancer needed some weirdos that weren't dead for their sim trooper program, so Bugs was shipped off with their fellow squad mates to simply sit in a bunker all day and do nothing. There they could get up into some shenanigans with their 'bootleg squad', sometimes saving the day, and sometimes just trolling the internet. For now, they are just happy that they can hide in plain sight, unsure if they want to find a way back to their home planet...or stay with the friends they grew to love so much. They know that one day they will have to choose, but hopes it won't happen anytime soon.
