Profile

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

MANA'S DESIGN IS CURRENTLY BEING COMPLETELY OVERHAULED.

 PERSONALITY:

To the point, and severe with her wording, Mana is an intimidating person to start a conversation with. In fact, if the conversation doesn't need to happen, she'd much prefer it if you stood there and respectfully said nothing.

Her compulsion towards efficiency, and disdain for wasting time makes her tricky to win the favor of. Talk is cheap, and the best way to gain her favor is through showing her your worth by doing something worth while.

Despite her prickly demeanor, it's actually quite difficult to earn her animosity. Mostly, she remains indifferent. As such, her respect is a highly valued commodity.

Back story:

Mana grew up knowing that her future in The Citadel had been secured, thanks to her father's influence. She also understood that, if she showed the appropriate level of aptitude, she could rise to become her father's successor as Pillar of the Shield. From the first day she could comprehend that possibility, she worked towards her goal.

As a child, she dutifully mimicked her father's mannerisms, his tone of voice, his vocabulary, and his broad posture. She listened in on his strategizing, and observed the manner in which he commanded his men.

Her eagerness to follow in her father's footsteps did not go unnoticed by him. On her seventh birthday, he gifted her with a properly weighted sword of her own, and a master who could teach her the very basics of sword handling.

As her passion refused to wain over the years that followed, she was soon being trained in both archery and close quarters combat. Her father provided her with many lessons of his own, equipping her with the intelligence, confidence, and leadership skills required to thrive in his position.

By the age of fifteen, she officially joined the military as an ensign, and made quick work of impressing her more skeptical superiors. She climbed the ranks as years passed and her experience in a militaristic environment mounted. By the age of thirty-one, she was promoted High Captain, joining the rank of her long time teacher, Gabriel Legard.

She married to Pillar of the People Julian DuPont at the age of thirty-nine, a year before her inevitable inauguration into Pillarhood. Together, they enjoyed a powerful relationship and were met with little resistance upon implementing their plans for the republic.

That was, until Julian panicked.

After a horrifying blast that put The Citadel's third tower up in flames, Julian responded with a seemingly knee-jerk reaction. He appealed to the High Court, and took command of the most powerful arm of Mana's military. Despite Mana's protests and attempts to strong arm the decision into a more agreeable direction, The High Captain Legard and his small army of highly esteemed men were moved into The Citadel's fourth tower, under Julian's jurisdiction.

Embittered and betrayed by her husband's refusal to communicate and heed to reason, resentment was quick to build up and tear a rift into their relationship. Finding it impossible to trust him without hearing an honest explanation behind his impulsive and antagonistic decisions, she quickly distanced herself from him, and put up a wall of resentful hostility.

The virulence of Julian's transgressions greatly overshadowed the public accolades she received for identifying and arresting Pillar of the Coin Eitan Bernal, for the massive embezzlement scheme he carried out in the wake of the confusion and disorganized chaos following the blast that killed Arthur Fabel and his crew.

Since then, the two find it impossible to reach an amicable agreement on anything. It seems the only decision she has been willing to concede on, is the name that would replace Eitan Bernal as Pillar of the Coin.

Ongoing Story:

Mana keeps mostly to herself, and minds her own affairs within The Citadel's first tower. Having no desire to comply with Julian, and exercising extreme skepticism towards the young Pillar of the Coin Niyati Ada, Mana has relinquished herself to looking after the republic to the best of her abilities, provided her limited resources.

Her displeasure towards the current state of affairs is almost palatable.
