Than they got their cutiemark when they ran off from studying. They hid somewhere, specifically their mother's study. They quickly noticed that it was very unorganized, so he got right to work. A exasperated Twilight found her child there. She was about to royally ground them when she realized that she put all of her things away.

Yes, their destiny wasn't to become a great knight, scholar, or hero. They were just really good at organizing things. Twilight and Flash realized that day that they couldn't change their kid's destiny. (Although Flash was still bummed out)

Now adays they work in a normal office. Their desk is nice and neat and he helps file papers away.
