Happenstance was an Angel given the responsibility of caring for a human on Earth. While taking form in order to travel the earth as a human mentor, Happenstance was struck by a falling star and its form changed drastically, rendering it unable to communicate easily and with multiple defects. Despite its strange new appearance- feathers in random areas, eyes clustered on one side of its head, wings sprouting from odd places either too small or warped to be of any use, multiple limbs- Happenstance managed to settle in relatively well using his human disguise. Though unusually lanky with intense eyes and a strange gait, Happenstance becomes fast friends with Tobias, the human he was sent to protect. Tobias's mother is deaf and he knows sign language, so he taught Happenstance (Stan, as Tobias knows him) how to use gestures to communicate.

The other Angels are none too happy about Happenstance being on Earth, and fearing he could cause damage to the fragile link between Earth and Heaven, they attempt to destroy him through any means possible. Tobias gets caught up in the chase and eventually discovers Stan's true identity. Needless to say he's terrified and betrayed HOWEVER it all works out eventually and they have mind-blowing gay sex the end. love wins ← I promise there is more to the story.
