Profile
Andrulian
Clever • Loving • Trusting
"Everything you thought you knew will fall apart, but you'll be alright."
Andrulian is a traveling merchant in Dear Wormwood, and a bit of a conman. They have a tendency to lie about what they're selling, often claiming that their wares have magical abilities when they don't (example: he tells people that conecakes are called "power cylinders" and give you vague and weak powers, such as creating water with your mouth). Despite this, they do have real magical artifacts, but will only sell them to people he trusts. Andrulian has no loyalties to any kingdom or ruler, only to individuals they have taken a liking to. Although they may seem shady at first, they are a very loyal ally and will prove time and time again to be worth trusting.
Notes
- Andrulian is not one to be looked for. When someone is searching for them, he will simply appear to them, usually rising out of the ground or walking out of some bushes.
- Andrulian met Maline when he was very young, traveling in the Wasteland with their cousin. They've been together ever since.
- Andrulian is the only character who will always help the player, even if they don't deserve it. He may not understand their motivations, but he will trust them to fix their mistakes and help them do so.
- The death of their cousin was very hard on them. Andrulian would always joke that their name was Standrulian. In honor of them, Andrulian continues to tell everyone about their many cousins with names such as Bandrulian, Flandrulian, Kandrulian, etc. In reality, none of them exist.

Pre-Dear Wormwood
Andrulian grew up in the Wasteland. He never knew his parents, but instead was raised alongside his older cousin. They looked out for each other alone for a while, but eventually they met a little raccoon girl all by herself and invited her to come along. From that moment on, they all stuck together. When Andrulian was 21, their cousin passed away from an illness. They didn't take it very well at first, but Maline's support got them through it. Shortly after that, the two left the Wasteland, crossing the sea and heading towards Boreas. Though they do lots of traveling independently now, they always come back to each other.
Main Story
The player first encounters Andrulian while sneaking through the streets of Boreas. They will appear seemingly out of nowhere, insisting that the player buy something from them. After going through an array of clearly fake or overpriced items, they will pull out two very, very important artifacts. The first is a necklace enchanted to protect the wearer from any fatal blow, but it only works once before it shatters. The second is a dagger enchanted to instantly kill anything it cuts. Andrulian mentions that they will only sell these powerful items to someone they trust, and the player seems to have a good heart. Nevertheless, the player can only pick one. After they make their purchase, Andrulian will wish them luck and vanish as mysteriously as they appeared.
DLC + Post-DLC
Andrulian is present in all four DLC routes, but they are most notable in two: Notos and Eurus. In the Notos DLC, Andrulian will travel with Maline to Wormwood to check on the player. Though Maline much more worried for the player than they are, he still proves to care deeply about them, and will try to help them overcome their grief and move on. In the end, Andrulian will help lead them to Notos, providing them with a second chance. He will continue to love them and smile through it, even if they choose to leave him behind.
In the Eurus DLC, Dawkin and the player are nearly killed in the castle. As they lay paralized on the floor, Andrulian summons vines beneath them, dragging them underground and saving their lives. He will bring them into the woods outside of Boreas, leaving a note with them that tells them to leave, as the guards will soon be searching the woods for them. After a few days of traveling, Andrulian will send them a letter to inform them that someone new has taken the throne, someone bad. He asks for the players help to find the old king's sister in the Kingdom of Twilight before it's too late. He is the only person from the original party willing to reach out to them at this point.
Andrulian and Maline have known each other nearly their entire lives. They love each other dearly, and would die for each other at a moment's notice. No matter what, they're sticking together.
