Backstory

Alejandro's parents were both Merfolk from the lost city of Atlantis, his father Fernando being the crowned prince when he met his wife to be, Valentina, who was a seamstress at the time they met. They courted in secret, as the prince was expected to marry a princess. They were together for a couple of years before they became public with their relationship, as Valentina had fallen pregnant with their first child. They married later that year and went on to be become king and queen.

When Alejandro was born, he was loved and adored by the people, who often doted on the young prince almost as much as his parents did. Son after, his younger sister Rosita and Gisella were born. They were all well loved by the people of the lost city, and Alejandro and his family ruled the city with kindness and often went out of their way to help people who were less fortunate than them. 

However, an oil spill occurred in Atlantis, destroying the city and killing many people. Alejandro and his family saved as people as they could, before they all came to land and took human forms. In Chile, they founded a tiny independent city-state, like Monaco, called Sáltina (an anagram for the word Atlantis). They rule their people with the same kindness they did in the sea. They often deny outsiders entrance to their city however, in fear their true identities will be revealed.
