Harlow "Harley" Varlett, is a Botanist and head cook on the ship, Hispaniola.
She is a character based in the classic story, Treasure Island.

Harley is overall a very sweet person to be around. She comes off as very quaint and quiet but once you get to know her more her bright personality really starts to come through.
To be noted however, She can be very feisty when she gets into an arguement. That means never get on her bad side.
Write a summary of your character's appearance.
I wanted her design to be very loose and flowing to play along with her personality while also having some hints to her studies in Botany. Her style is also slightly themed off the hippie style of the 70s.
- She rarely wears outfits with pants, she mainly sticks to outfits with skirts or dresses.
- She always has a flower in her hair, most of the time it is either a Daisy or a Lily.
- She doesn't have the greatest eyesight hence the big round glasses.
Harley grew up in a small seaside village of Altheta. Her mother was a Botanist who created and sold different herb remedies to treat many illnesses and her father was the town Blacksmith.
She grew up with a love for nature as well as the see and would always watch the ships come into port through the window of her mother's portside shop. With the many people who came through the shop, Harley befriended many travelers, including her childhood friend Merry.
Her mother taught her nearly everything she knows about Botany and also gifted all the jewelry she wears before she left to travel the seas and start her own adventure.
When she was in her late teens years she met a young cabin boy named Sebastian Crow, after becoming close friends they started dating shortly after. Then when she was 20 yrs old and he was 21 yrs old, they got married and got a place in Altheta to stay at between their adventures.
Harley and Sebastian loved their time together and hated when they had to part when he had to head back out with his crew. Sadly, when Harley was 22 yrs old, she got new that Sebastian's ship was raided and there was no survivors. This sent her into a deep depression, mourning the loss of her love. She lost interest in her hobbies for a long while and basically shut herself away from the world. It took her a long while to come back from it all but with some help and comfort from Merry, her light and personality came back. Then at 23 yrs old, she decided to start adventuring again and joined Merry on her journeys.
While on a journey with Merry, Harley rescued a Bernese Mountain dog pup and named her Iris. She became her closest companion and her emotional support through some of her toughest days. Now in the present day, at 26 yrs old, Harley and Iris sail with Merry and the crew of the Hispaniola on their journey to find Treasure Island and travel the seas in search of more adventures after.
Childhood Friends
Merry is Harley's closest childhood friend.
The two met at a very young age when Merry's family first visited Altheta and they have been practically inseparable every since. She is the one Harley tells everything to and she is the only other person who knows about the loss of her husband.
"Nephew"
Jim is Harley's "nephew" and she absolutly loves him. With Merry being his Godmother, Harley instantly became like an aunt to him.
He usually hangs out with Harley while she is cooking in the kitchen and during some free time she teaches him a little bit about Botany.
