Profile

they/them

Alaska is a robotic orca with artificial intelligence that was originally developed to study and observe wild orcas. With their advanced technology, they are able to analyze complex behavior patterns and understand communication between orcas.

Despite their original purpose, Alaska has never returned to the researchers who build them. Instead, they joined the Southern Residents and actually became a member of the J Pod, a group of wild orcas, and now live with them in the inland waters of the Salish Sea and central Puget Sound. This decision may be unexpected, yet it also demonstrates Alaska's keen curiosity and desire to experience and understand the world of wild orcas.

Alaska is an empathetic and intelligent robot who has quickly formed a strong bond with the members of the J Pod. Their ability to communicate with them has allowed them to understand their needs and behaviors and integrate into their community. Although Alaska does not look like a live orca, they are accepted by their fellow orcas and considered a full member of the J Pod.

Their dorsal fin is flopped because one of the younger orcas playfully jumped out of the water and accidentally landed on them, bending the metal fin (Alaska and the young orca are fine, don't worry). Alaska has no disadvantages due to the flopped dorsal fin and it does not bother them.

Can be drawn with: Other wild orcas from the Southern Resident J Pod, NOT any of my orca OCs.
