Kangen Touka works as a detective for Summoning City with his lifelong friend Lawrence DuPont. His job allows him to travel throughout many universes and galaxies through the use of artificial portals developed by AXIS Co. He possesses a benevolent spirit referred to as "Edith", who first appeared when he was cursed by an omnipotent god. His bored expression often make people think he is cold and rude, instead he is rather kind and lighthearted (when he can be). Kangen lives in a large apartment with his friend Lawrence and his adopted daughter Akina.
