Former Life

Hyun led a former life of complete apathy and isolation. She lived off of a trust fund her parents left her with. She had a number of social issues including anxiety and paranoia, she rarely left the house and had everything brought to her. Her schooling was done online, the only person she saw regularly was the delivery person. She felt apathetic to the feelings of others and had a tendency to ignore anything remotely negative and viewed herself as selfish.

Having the freest time a person could ask for, Hyun dabbled in the occult and had a natural affinity for it. She easily summoned ghosts and low-level demons, it caused her to grow bored and drove her to do more dangerous spells. Her final spell in her time on Earth led to her demise, she summoned Lord Belphegore while he was in an awful mood. As punishment for disturbing him, he took her life, stealing her soul and abandoning her body in the house. No one found her for years.

Welcome to Hell

In Hell, Belphegore saw how she lived her human life and saw her potential as his new Sloth. His mood was soured due to his Sloth being weak and him having to redo it. He gave Hyun the choice to either become his new breed of Sloth or suffer for eternity. Feeling cornered, Hyun chose what she thought to be the lesser of two evils. Lord Belphegore took her name and soul, then melded it with various others to create a monstrous Sloth, the other souls trapped inside the carcass fought themselves for control. Ultimately, it ended with Hyun taking control over it due to her power. The souls submitted themselves to her will, but they screamed, they screamed in her mind for decades. As his Sloth, she spent her time doing his bidding, whether it be helping him create new things or even murder for him.

After decades of this, Hyun was fed up with this and pleaded for Belphegore to release her. Belphegore agreed, only if she were to complete one last heinous task for him. She agreed, underestimating just how bad it would be. Belphegore was true to his word and released her from his control, she was the first to retire and regain her name. He rewarded her service with a new form that would amplify her psychic ability, and if the time came, it would allow her to come back at his side as Sloth.

Future Prospects

The one good thing that came from servicing him was her encounter with Edith. Edith is the daughter of Mammon, they met during her time there and stayed friends. Edith came to see her when she took her new “retired” form and brought Hunny with her, though wary, Hyun welcomes Hunny into her life. They were inseparable until life got in the way and caused them to part ways. Hunny found a new life in the human world, and Edith took leave to further her ambitions, both leaving Hyun to be alone.

In the present time, she took on a human ward by the name of Cera. A worshiper of Lord Belphegore and Hyun’s lover. She’s quite dependent on Cera and would do anything she was asked to do. She can’t bring herself to tell her just how bad Belphegore was to her, out of fear of their lives being shaken up for the worst. She misses Cera terribly.
