Sascha was born from a commoner family in Roséthania. His family owns a fruits garden and a winery, known to be the kindest household at their village. For most of his early life, Sascha busied himself by helping out his parents and playing with the younger kids in the village. He gained interest in gardening and flowers in general while growing up. Then, as Roséthania has a conscript policy, Sascha was sent to study at the military academy during his teenage years.

Oklia met Sascha when she visited the military academy's common lounge (a place she normally avoids). The princess saw Sascha all alone at the garden, tending flowers, and quickly took an interest in him (and his face). When Sascha graduated from the academy, he received a letter of invitation to work at the royal palace. Though initially wary whether he'd get along with the palace workers, his parents urged him to take on the offer and make their family proud. He then followed his parents advice, setting off to the capital all alone.
