History: Moss didn’t know a home his whole childhood. Orphaned as a child, Moss grew up on the streets. He was often mocked and even beaten for his faunus trait as people found him to be a freak and even lower than normal faunus. Reaching his breaking point, Moss acted in self defense and accidentally killed(?) his attacker. Horrified at his act of violence, he fled the scene of the crime and hid on a boat in a panic. That boat happened to belong to Qoral’s parents and after Qoral discovered him hiding in their galley, he was treated as an equal, being fed and living with the family. Moss was afraid that it was too good to be true and still feared that he would be found out for his previous murder, and kept silent for a long time. However, Qoral finally got him out of his shell, and the two became fast friends. Her parents also view Moss as close as family, and trust him to help Qoral when they aren’t around.

Trivia:

• Moss’s goal as a hunter is to be able to fight for himself so that Qoral doesn’t have to worry about him.
• Moss is hopelessly in love with Qoral, but doesn’t want to ruin their friendship and fears that Qoral views them as a sibling, so doesn’t act on their feelings. 
• Moss’s personality now is very different from when they first met Qoral. As a child they were reclusive, touchaverse, and always alert/ready to bolt. While Moss can still be seen as a bit reclusive, he finds it much easier to let people get closer to him, at the very least to become aquantinces. Again, while they aren’t chatterbox, they participate in conversation and will even laugh, especially with Qoral. 
• Moss’s clothing is very open because of his slime. He hates his clothing sticking to him and therefore his flowy outfit allows him to be more comfortable while fighting.
• Moss was around 8 when they met Qoral. Their actual birthday is unknown so Qoral’s family just calls the day they found Moss their birthday.
• Moss’s symbol is an spiral eye that extends into a snail. The snail represents his faunus heritage, the spiral as both a snail shell and also an omage to onions (bc im really funny) and the eye represents the constant judgement they recieve because of how they look.
• While Moss’s parentage is unclear, he was given his name Moss, (which is a reference to swamps…). His last name of Nerites was adopted after Qoral’s father told them about the sea god Nerites, god of snails.
• The bubble aspect of their weapon based on the Violet Sea-Snail, which creates bubbles to float on the surface of the ocean (it also eats the Portuguese Man-O-War so that’s pretty fuckin cool).
• Moss has never revealed their past to anyone, and the weight of their actions weigh heavy on their shoulders constantly. They are always fearful their past will come back to haunt them.
