Asanı

Just an ambitious but unlucky girl who desperately wants to invent her own fashion. Anası comes from a lower-class rural family who specialize in working with looms and largely contribute in the textile industry. Her family is relatively large; 5 older siblings plus 7 younger and counting which means her parents are never as available as they should be and emotionally neglect their kids for the sake of work and bringing more money back home. Anası understands this and doesn't resent them too much for it,for both her sake and theirs, but still wishes her parents could pay more attention to her. To.. everyone. (This is a childish whim, if you ask her). Because of this, Anası's left with having her emotional, psychological and materalistic needs never met and subconscously always looks for it elsewhere. As a result she also doesn't know or understand the inherent need for familial belonging considering how her parents would treat her and her siblings like mini coworkers rather than their own children, so Anası, while subconsciously desperate for attention, is equally wildly indepedent and openly scoffs at children leeching on to their parent(s) in public.

• She has a boyfriend named Bijan, a Persian rice farm boy who is the son of the owner of the agricultural land that both their families (+a few others) live on and help cultivate
  • They don't really get along; Bijan is very mild-mannered and nonchalant and dismissive of everything which irritates Asanı, who is alot more eccentric and socially demanding
  • They do end up breaking eventually on Bijan's own terms
• She finds herself a second family in Nol and his sons
