PERSONALITY:

Arden is painfully shy and scared of mostly everything. He has agoraphobia resulting from childhood abuse, and has never been the same since. He feels perfectly comfortable in his studio apartment, or if he is totally alone. Despite being scared easily, Arden loves horror and scary things, and will gladly leave his apartment, via the fire escape, not wanting to be confronted, to go look for aliens or cryptids in the forest that his town borders. Sometimes he'll take road trips to go hunting in his van, having everything he needs to stay comfortable set up in there.

BACKSTORY:

When Arden was 8, he encountered his father with his mistress while his mother was gone. Arden's father was not happy, and began to beat and abuse Arden, making the young boy too scared to leave his own bedroom. His mother was always worried for him, and it turned out she knew about the affair herself, but was being threatened not to do anything about it by her husband. Arden's mother was diagnosed with cancer, and she was in and out of the hospital, which was incredibly hard on Arden. He was terrified of his father, and his mother was his only source of comfort and safety. When she was admitted to the hospital, too sick to stay at home, Arden would cry for hours on end. One day, his father got sick of it, and charged the child with a frying pan, hitting him on the side of the back of his head. Arden's brain was damaged, and he became permanently blinded on the right side from damage done to the visual cortex of his brain. Despite his horrified, pained screaming, his father refused to take him to the emergency room until an hour later, and he remained in the hospital recovering for a long period of time.

Not long after, Arden's mother passed away from her cancer. He was dumped with his maternal grandmother, and his father practically vanished. Arden struggled every day to go to school, and when he was in 10th grade, he dropped out and started online schooling. He'd always been interested in computers, and began to learn lots about them, becoming an expert in no time. Once he could, he moved out of his grandmother's house, and got a small studio apartment, mostly paid for by his grandmother and the money left over from his mother. Arden mostly stays in his apartment, only leaving for certain things, like groceries, photography, or going into the forest at night. He still stays close with his grandmother, and talks to her several times a week.

TRIVIA:

• Arden has a small cross necklace from his mother that he wears a majority of the time.
• He has a tiny flower tattoo on his left wrist, of flowers he picked out for his mother's funeral.
• He has a bulletin board in his apartment, filled with articles of 'proof' of aliens and cryptids as well as pictures he's taken.
