Profile

Sylvia Brumblebow, Xizol's creator and friend.

Sylvia grew up in a poor village and didn't have much for friends considering children were scarce in that town. However, she had a knack for arts and crafts and found ways to entertain herself. She would often create her own toys since she couldn't afford real ones, but her parents strongly discouraged it because she would often wander off alone into monster-infested woods to collect the materials she wanted. After a fateful incident in the woods which nearly took her life, her parents forbade her from ever entering the woods again, and she was to never leave the house without supervision. Lonely and distraught, Sylvia locked herself away in her tiny room in the basement. This went on for weeks, and her parents started to get concerned. One day Sylvia's father came home from work with an unexpected surprise: It wasn't much, but he had found a discarded porcelain doll that was a little worse for wear. It was missing an arm and a leg, but he knew Sylvia would have no problem coming up with a solution. Sylvia was beyond ecstatic, and she got to work right away on fixing up her new friend. Using whatever scraps she had left and even bits of her own raggedy clothes, she gave him new clothes, new limbs, and a new name. She called him Xizol after a magical circus performer she had met once, because his silly mis-matched appearance reminded her of a clown.

Her new friend never left her side, and she put all of her efforts into taking very good care of him, making sure he always had someone to talk to so he wasn't lonely. One night, a huge flash of light appeared in the moonless sky followed by a thunderous crash. A shooting star had plummeted to the earth, landing in the woods outside Sylvia's house. The star exuded a strange mist that swept silently throughout the village, and it entered Sylvia's house first. Awoken by the sudden booming noise, Sylvia was not expecting to see her limp, tiny porcelain friend now towering over her with a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes. Not only was he standing on his own, he even spoke. His first words were a vow to stay by her side and protect her with every ounce of his newfound strength. Xizol kept his promise for years and years, and he watched her grow into a brilliant and fearless young woman. Sylvia felt invincible with her dearest friend always by her side, but it couldn't last forever. The many long years began to show on Sylvia, and with her advancing age came sickness.

Retired from her adventuring, she now prefers to spend the last years of her life making toys for children and taking walks when she can. Xizol is always happy to spend these quiet moments with her, but in recent years he tends to leave for longer and longer periods of time. Whenever she asks, he just tells her he's searching for something and hasn't found it yet. Whatever it is, her only wish is for him to find it someday.
