Information

  • Nationality:Β Vietnamese / Mixed ethnicity. Her lineage is relatively unknown as she was orphaned during WWII. She was adopted into an English family, but has little contact with them anymore. She is fluent in British English and conversational in an assortment of random languages.
  • Employment:Β She has worked under Iskra for about 5 years as of 1971. She was hired as a university intern and eventually worked her way into a higher position. Regardless of how she is treated by Iskra, she seems to enjoy her job underneath her heavy coat of sarcasm and general nihilism.
  • Struggles: Her focus on artistic expression can sometimes cross healthy or otherwise logical boundaries. Her heavy drug use tends to perpetuate her pessimistic outlook on life, though she credits it for her unique artistic vision. Her mental health is extremely questionable, but she claims it's 'part of a creative's job to be partially insane.' She bores easily and is utterly full of herself.

Interests

  • Likes: Abstract art, books, fashion, pop culture, psychology, party drugs, hallucinogens, individual expression, networking, mysteries, true crime, history, puzzles, and tea.

  • Habits:Β Smoking, drinking, drug use, enabling, overthinking, suicide ideation, nihilism, and compulsive talking.
  • Dislikes: Gambling, coffee, organized religion, monotony, being without a cigarette, posers, and children.

Audio Essay

Β  Β "Art, sure, is incredibly subjective. Unfortunately, I think most people are just quite boring. I don't want to see the next sensational painting that took 3 brush strokes and a 'genius metaphorical concept' to create. I want to see someone fall over their own sword to make a point. You know? Do something that really takes guts, you know? Something years in the making... Something that takes your whole lifetime to create... Err... Maybe I want to see the next inhumane social experiment- I don't know. I think that real art is all encompassing. It should consume you entirely, in my opinion at least. Otherwise, I'll just... Walk away. Observe the next 'genius representational sculpture' in line in some hack modern museum... I'll find my real outlet someday, and hopefully it kills me. You know? Maybe death is the purest form of art- You work your whole life to become something, to do something, to see something. Yet any moment could be your last, see? A good surprise- I think. Good art is a magnificent surprise a lifetime in the making. There is no search for 'deeper' meaning, the outcome is that there never was one. Never was a meaning to life or death or anything in between. The only meaning it has is the 'genius metaphor' your future audience assigns to it. And people are painfully stupid. So, you know, you have to make a pretty bold statement. Unless you want to be forgotten like everyone else. What fun is there in that, you know? The horror surrounding the idea that there was truly no moral to be found in the first place is the best surprise of all. There never was meaning to all your suffering. That's how you get people to come up with the best interpretations of your art. The purely human frustration and confusion and... Utter disappointment when they're met with little to no explanation is- one of the most uniquely mortal feelings. It's scary, makes you stop trusting your judgement. 'I'm just missing something, I'll understand it soon enough when I find that.. Final piece!' If you keep people searching forever, your art never dies, you know?"
