• Lance's amulet around his neck is from his father
• Lance keeps his hair long due to it being an old Destinian tradition to not cut you're hair. Usually done by ocean fish species more then river/pond his mother was of a red snapper so he does it for her.

• Though considers himself somewhat of a pirate he usually only steals alcohol and pays for everything else.
• Lance still does Prince duties once in awhile when he gets a letter from his mother to attend meetings at other kingdoms to discuss anything to do with the ocean. 
  • Lance was seen as not knowing any laws about the ocean so they thought they could get away with requests as war or anything to do with Destinia, Lance put an end to those requests quickly.

Childhood

In the east a kingdom resides on the shore. Seaside Kingdom is it's most common name, consisting of all walks of life from fisherman to people wanting to show off their boats. To those who preside from river sides and oceans, Destinians (Fish Human hybrid species) know this area as Destina. Only they know where the undersea kingdom lies so normal humans don't attempt to ruin thousands of years of history.

Like with every kingdom there is always a King and Queen. Lance was born to King Koi and Queen Serenity. A destinian Koi and a destinian Red Snapper, not many people know the age of the queen but his father Sally Koi has been known for years across the ocean as Captain Koi. Lance growing up didn't see his father much but when he did he always wanted to be taken on adventures with him, once Lance hit the ages of elementary is when he got to ride in his ship sometimes but only for a day or so. His mother was persistent on him getting an education and joining the military so he could grow up to be a good leader like his dad. Lance didn't see him dad as a King though, but a pirate or a captain just like  the rest of the world. But somehow he was respected anyway as a King and did his duties at the same time as having "fun" is what Lance saw.

Lance not understanding this was a rebellious child growing up and tried to skip school all the time......He was 8 🙄🙄🙄, until his dad sat him down and told him that he went to school as a kid too. Shocker, Lance wasn't the brightest kid I suppose but this atleast inspried him to be more active in school since he realized when his father was a kid he went to school.

Lance being as tall as he is today wasn't very tall when he was younger, destinians are very long-living creatures and stay young almost throughout their lifetime. Due to this many don't look the age they are until they're 18-20 (and then they stay that way for a long while). Going to the local school he was persistent on not having people know he was the prince too, to keep up with his "captain" aesthetic. Being short he got picked on, and being dumb he didn't get it and actually tried to befriend the local bully. It worked....

Eric and Lance met in elementary school and still are to this day friends, Eric definitely became the annoying one eventually somehow. Eric was also the first and only person for a long while who knew about Lance's background as being the prince and their friendship grew over time on their shared love for boats and water. (Eric and Captain Koi were father son about fishing more then Lance was, Lance thought/thinks fishing is boring as hell)

Young Adult Years

When Lance got into highschool he was enrolled in military programs to make his mother happier. Promising her he'll become a Captain the right way just so he gets his own ship. He doesn't talk much about having extensive military training since it was a part of his life he didn't like cause the military was boring to him, and also when he was at his lowest points. At 15 waiting for his father to come back home from a longer then usual voyage, he was informed first by a higher ranking officer that his father and crew had gone missing and the only thing left was their ship and father's necklace he'd always worn at a location not apart of their planned trip. Being given the duty of informing his mother he wasn't sure how to feel inside. His mother was upset but didn't start sobbing at the fact. Lance knew that she was just trying to be a strong Queen/Mother but it mildly pissed off his 15 year old self and he ran away for a few days onto his smaller boat that he was given a few years ago.

He came back after thinking alone and decided on finding his father when he became Captain. Lance finished his schooling and military training rising the ranks easily. He became a official Captain at 19 and days after took his mothers hand and told her goodbye. Lance kept her promise and took his father's ship The Red Queen and went on a sole mission to locate his father using the only clue he left which was his necklace.

Being a captain at 19 was unheard of, but he abused the weight of his fathers last name to be allowed into docks across the world. His crew though respected him, he was still 19 and most members were old enough to be his own father. Most people Lance has met when he was younger didn't stay for reasons Eric only knows. Eric doesn't ever admit it nowadays but rumors when Lance was younger were mostly just facts at some points. Lance was rumored to be a strict and aggressive at times, he had many moments of his usual carefree self (aka when he was drunk) but he didn't want anyone to mistreat him or think he was a dumb 19 year old. Military training paid off in Lance's opinion during these times and he continued to use methods like these until he was more known again like his father. (But half the world still thinks he is Sally not Lance when talked about in news) 

Present (Subject to change)

Over 20 years have passed, Eric and Lance's adventuring slowed down over the years (especially when Eric had a kid but it's fine Lance didn't need Eric the whole time). Lance was a more carefree Captain and ended up doing side jobs stealing from docks or messing with Empire ships from the West that aren't supposed to camp so close to Destinia (a law the Ocean has mind you). Lance was still active in looking for his Father but he was somewhat experiencing a mid-life crisis, realistically if he were to be in his mid-life he should be 100s of years old, but he was only 40.

He became curious about the politics of many countries, somehow he became his mom's peace-loving mindset as he got older and decided to start digging dirt. Though Destinia rules over the Ocean, the only actual part that is ruled over is Seaside. A small kingdom to the world and the Ocean is just a free-for-all as long as there is no war set on it. Meaning he wouldn't mess with most countries in the West until he had more authority especially if he was just a merely Pirate Prince.

The dragon kingdom north of Destinia interested him as he thought the one leader Blight was hot. (the braincells this guy has are massive) Deciding visiting them as a nearby country wouldn't hurt until he realised he might've stolen from this dock before and was handcuffed by authorities and sent to the dungeon. Well at least they showed me to their castle pretty quickly and met the younger brother of Blight, Ark. Whatever Ark was bickering to Lance he couldn't help but think why would he be even speaking to me, are crime rates low or does he do this with everyone?

One thing leads to another Lance became Ark's probably worst nightmare, somehow any method Ark's military used to handcuff Lance didn't work. Until he was just a regular at this pretty mountain castle in the north. Tea time with his sister was also common and Ark probably just gave up, Lance wouldn't remember.

Lance liked hanging around this kingdom a lot, and the local bars too why'd the dragons have such good alcohol? But something felt off about it too so he decided to visit often to buy alcohol for his ship and to pay a visit to the siblings. Along the way to his visits he recruited Eric's son Kojen (who wants to be a mage for some reason), a lone knight named Helios from a kingdom in the deep south and helped a brothel receptionist Nekono from Market Town quit her job over many months. His crew expanded as he decided just letting random people he thought need help on board.

One night Lance had heard from the priest who works for the siblings that Blight had disappeared. Lance knowing this was bound to happen went looking for Ark, he was wounded and basically left for dead by his sister. Guess this means a dragon sibling gets to join my crew too. 😊

This side adventuring with new people put Lance into a better mood, having been searching years for something most people told him would be impossible to find kind of made him a bit down all the time. Though this witch hunt for Blight did piss him off at least he got to be angry about something that isn't personal.

Lance's Disappearance (BIT INCOMPLETE)

Everyone headed to Helios's Kingdom, since hunting down Blight right away didn't seem like the best plan of action dealing with whatever Helios's problem first seemed better. Ending up at this frigid Desert kingdom, Lance being used to the weather of the northern dragon didn't expect this from a desert. Seemed whatever Helios was going on about curses was correct.

After a year of sailing with new friends and going through islands of trouble to find Blight and basically doing side quests Lance had a spark of inspiration sitting around in this southern castle. Something in the library had spoken about the necklace Lance wore, never have been this far in the continent he didn't think they'd have books about anything useful. It was in a language he couldn't understand and Helios's annoying brother Ra'kus wasn't really much help with that.

Lance decided he needed alone time anyway and set off on a smaller boat to where he thinks he saw in the book. He probably took a few wrong turns since he hasn't been in this part of the world very much. Next thing you know he ends up getting kidnapped by Empire military and wakes up in a dungeon.

Much about this time Lance doesn't talk about much, in summary he was kidnapped by the Republic to start another war over the ocean. Lance was persistent on not talking which made it hard to go through with anything. He didn't want anyone to know he was the prince and he didn't want to be made a big deal of being kidnapped incase they tried to make some dumb deal. In the end they couldn't even try to get what they wanted and leaders switched mid way and they forgot the plan entirely.

He got locked in there for 5-7 years (give or take)

Timeskip

Lance returns to news of a war about to breakout in the west and everyone had been waiting for him. He is a little out of it and quiet but gets cheered up easily and they go on about their adventure to get Blight and maybe see what is happening with this war BS.

Rest of the story is a bit incomplete and gets some more detail in Willis's profile (the war part atleast)
