Maple

Appearance
Maple is a soft and thin purple-skinned winged tiefling with hooved feet. Her wings in particular look angelic, and her horns appear to have been cut off, with one still floating where it should be connected. She wears fairly dark clothing that somewhat matches with the golden rims of most of her clothes and armor. The only bright clothing besides that are a set of purplish-pink mittens that she never takes off lest she needs to delicately handle something. Her golden eyes glisten as orbs that shine through the darkness, and her hair is typically short, dark, and has a grayish blue color to it.

Background
Maple was born into a cultist group known as the Pyre of Light in the cavern-village of Enix. Though she was a tiefling, she was found to be quite welcome in the group due to her parents being high ranking members. She grew to be quite the optimist as well, which worked well with the Pyre’s views. Though some things changed when she was chosen to be the Enkindled. The Enkindled were known to become the high priests and be possessed by the deity that the Pyre of Light worshiped. Everything appeared to go according to plan; Maple said goodbye to her family and close friends as the ritual took place, yet something went wrong in the ritual. The ritual itself was supposed to rid Maple of her own morality and personality; becoming the latest priest that was the conduit for their deity in the Material Plane. This itself was shown for a fact when Maple continued to enjoy her favorite hobby to take part in, which was in fact cooking. However, she still retained the abilities of being the conduit of the deity. Many of the lower members of the Pyre of Light lashed out in anger, and many of Maple’s friends that would stand up for her always became the leaders of these people who disapproved. Day by day, Maple’s self-esteem crumbled to ash. Eventually things became so hectic that one day a once very close friend of Maple tried to murder her. This failed, but smashed one of Maple’s horns so badly that it had to be filed away, and the other broke off cleanly. While the perpetrator was dealt with, this finally teetered Maple off the edge. She was never confident in any of her skills again. She asked her parents if it was a mistake to make her the Enkindled. But her parents reassured her that the Enkindler was right in choosing its next vessel. Knowing that if she stayed any longer she would never come back out of her shell, her parents told her she should adventure and help those with her own sentience in mind. The light would guide her as long as she wanted, and she was free to come home whenever she was ready; not the Enkindler inside her, but Maple herself. With this, Maple packed what little she could carry and headed off into the unknown as an Enkindled with her own ideals and her own thoughts.

Personality
While Maple is fairly a charismatic person, she is also extremely prone to becoming a stuttering mess due to fear of being ridiculed. Though somewhat ironic that she becomes very stern and serious when preparing meals for her friends. Maple also tends to hate conflict, but happens to burn her enemies accidently when they attack her or her friends.
