A BROKEN WORLDS RPG.

THE WORLD OF KHARDEN AL.

Welcome to the world of Kharden Al, one strange world out of 777,777 in the Multiverse surrounding Throne. The place is split into 7 territories within the uncertain space of existence, not normally touching each other. However, travel between the territories is possible, either regulated or below the law -- but be wary of acts considered illegal in the eyes of the Kingdom that is said to rule this world.

PART I: THE ARRIVAL OF EHYE.

An eternity ago, at the beginning of Kharden Al, there were only a rough community of humans, servants, and the occasional lost angel. Among this restless community eventually arose one sorcerer of considerable power by the name of Ehye -- the first ever known to be able to use all three of the Arts. With his mix of Red, White, and Black Arts, he could have ruled the world in tyranny; but instead, he became their benevolent God, sowing the seeds of Creation and raising an Age of Light. With his white word, he created a grand central city out of ashes and called it San Kaissa -- it was the Paradise of Kharden Al.

However, as time passed, Ehye found himself lonely at the pinnacle of what he had created, having nobody who did not consider him a God to show off his work to. It was then that he came to discover a wandering powerful sorceress with a prowess for the Arts that rivalled his own. Mastema, he called her, and brought with him to show his World. However, though he showed her with fervor, she showed very little interest and even began to show semblances of hate, beginning to pit her own Arts against him and deconstructing his creations with her black word.

Upset by the disrespect she showed, he tried to smite her -- but upon this move, she cursed the beings in his city, believing such an Age of Light would not last. Angry, yet still fond for the first who could ever rival him, Ehye demanded his sentinels to bring a vessel to seal Mastema within. With a body forged to contain her flame, she was sealed, her aimless destruction reigned. After, Ehye found it time to retire and go into slumber in the Heavens of his Kingdom, and entrusted 3 individuals to look over his legacy in his stead -- splitting his will into his Accord, his Power, and his Order to contain Mastema in his absence.

PART II: THE BIRTH OF KHARDEN AL.

With time, the successors found that Mastema, even trapped within the stone, could not be fully sealed. Her raging Atum roared to eat the world alive, angered by her treatment. The Accord, the Power, and the Order then chose a different approach -- to take the flame of Mastema and split it into two, re-sealing them within different shells. Her darker flame was weakened without its original power, and was contained much more easily -- while the other part of her fire was sealed within a stone shell, giving birth to an imitation angel that shared her original name. Brought up by the successors of Ehye, the rebirthed Mastema 1 had a second chance at life, appreciating what the original sorcerer had built within San Kaissa.

As the reincarnation grew, she eventually left the confines of the Kingdom, coming across the barren lands that surrounded it without such privilege. As she traveled these places, she felt a great pity for the humans and servants that lived in their poor conditions and toiled without knowledge of a better alternative. In one of these villages, she came across a young, human child by the name of Lael, being beaten by his employer -- and it was then that something stirred in Mastema 1's stone heart, sweeping in and taking the child under her own wings. Removing him from where he were born and intending to educate him in what could be, Lael became a great follower and a good friend. Mastema 1 rose him from a simple, bottom-class urchin, and he was, in turn, grateful.

However, eventually word would come out about the origins of Mastema 1, and all turned on the imitation angel for her sordid past as the Sorceress of Dark. She was deemed a danger to the village she had assisted for so many years, tasting betrayal as her stone body was pierced through the heart, broken, and falling into the waters. Lael, for his "treason" against their village, was outcasted.

Mastema 1, with her stone body unable to contain her trembling, corrupting Atum, nearly broke. Almost, her flame returned to that of the old Destroyer, but the guardians Ehye had left behind returned to interrupt -- and once again, the soul of Mastema was reduced to an ember, throwing her into a broken cycle of reincarnation, quieting and rebirthing as the angel with a human heart known as Karoeiaderlelle Ides Haellenthal.

Lael, as unfortunate punishment for what he had not done, had his Atum savaged apart by the Titans of Ehye, demoted to becoming less than human. With his judgment passed, Ehye’s flame disappeared once more; but they had forgotten the ember that had embedded it within Lael’s dimmed flame. The Will of Mastema, desiring destruction of Ehye’s creation still, willed the grieving boy to bend to it's will.

Driven by loss and brokenness, the Will easily led Lael to bitter hatred, standing against everything San Kaissa was. Led by the dark flame, Lael began delving into the dark Arts and summoned devils into their world, becoming a new sorcerer and tyrant -- and with his dark power, he overtook San Kaissa, swallowing it whole and rebuilding Ceskna Garha in its place. With an air of death in its air, Ceskna Garha quickly became a dangerous and volatile place to live -- and the new Lord continues to spread his influence in hopes of reclaiming his old friend.

PART III: THE FIRST HEROES.

Centuries later, the realm found itself in complete control under their Tyrant King, Lael. There was plenty dissent throughout the land for how he conducted his affairs, but his influence proved too powerful for any to speak out. In this world, Adlai, Ariel, and Hodiah used their influence and reach out to a number of people who they believed had the power, if put together, to save the world.

In their prophecy, they spoke of seven, calling them by a simple archetype -- the Beggar, the Boss, the Fury, the Hunter, the Law, and the Refined. Though this knowledge was not explicitly shared, the knew that these individuals would eventually bind together and know their shared fate.

The BEGGAR was a young one by the name of Mauca, having known the streets their whole life since their drunk father and ill mother drove them and their little sister out. Living in the cheapest inn they could feasibly find in the cheapest conditions they could bargain for, Mauca worked odd jobs while their little sister, Roudie, learned how to be an adult at too young an age despite Mauca's best efforts. When the job offer came as a accompanist for a journey, Mauca was, at first, skeptic and worried -- but the promise of a steady income for them and Roudie was too tempting. At the age of 16, and Roudie only 8, Mauca asked her to be good as she left for her adventure.

The BOSS was the only beloved daughter of a mafia don, his resources stretched across the land and into every corner. Siria Delphina, of the Delphina Family, always had everything she had ever wanted in her reach -- but she wanted to go out and take it for herself, rather than have it given to her. So at the age of 18, she left her home for an adventure, taking a handful of her father's men with her on his insistence.

The FURY was a scarred, hedonist angel, her stone shell covered in feathers and vine from her spiritual rot -- 99 BRIGHT WING APPREHENDS THE PROUD, she was known as. A wildfire in a cold body, many wondered if she was meant to be as an angel or if there were some great cosmic mistake; for her violence and bloodthirst were too great for any angel, petal or not, to have. Still, her willingness to do anything for a bit of coin or personal pleasure were a valuable asset to many -- that was, as long as they remained on her good side. She and 87 Ardent Scale Breaks the Fortunate had always been at odds due to their polarity, and it was largely due to him that she found herself in this ragtag group, slicing and breaking her way through the vile ranks of the cities for her "redemption". There were many close calls, some by her and some not -- and realizing more and more each time how close she was to her third digit of lives, she was quick to quit when the group began to fall apart after Mauca's death. She had no loyalty to these individuals she had come to know, she said -- and I certainly don't owe you anything, 87 Ardent Scale.

The HUNTER was a young man by the name of Frederick Loukos, raised in the shadows in the pack of the Wolf School.

The LAW is Ardent Scale.

The MASTER is Valkozz.

The REFINED was a young devil with her sights set on the world, having been the pet of a wealthy socialite who always gave her pet the taste of fame and money but never the real deal. Due to how her owner expected her pet of dark sorcery to behave, Dysnaiad was always rather tame for her species with manners unseen in a creature of the primordial flame bound by a mere mask. Perhaps it was here simple mindedness as a mere blue devil, or perhaps she had been smarter than the rest from the start and knew there was always something bigger waiting for her.

The first round of heroes that came to be in the world of Kharden Al, but ultimately failed in their quest.
