traits: Confidence. Power. Determination. Strong words to describe a strong mare. Lykos never lets anything get in the way of what she wants. She has a thick skin and doesn't let actions or words effect her. Confidence radiates from her very aura, making her rather intimidating despite not standing as tall as other equines. She is aware of her worth and will not allow anyone to diminish it. Say what you want about her but Lykos will refuse to let you break her down. She has survived this far in her life on sheer will power and spite at some points. It's going to take a hell of a lot of trauma and damage to get her to break. You will never see her cry. Her toxic trait is that she sees tears as a weakness, and her greatest fear is being seen as weak. She wants to be seen as strong, as capable of handling herself despite what anyone says or does to her. She will not bow, bend, or break - not if she has a choice.

history: TW - stillborn

Life was never grand for Lykos. Her mother died shortly after delivering the filly. Lykos was raised by her older sister who had just given birth herself - only the foal was stillborn. This caused an instant rift to form between the sisters, because not only was Lykos not her own daughter, she had also "killed" their mother. Lykos's sister was named Arkoúda. They shared different fathers but the same mother. Arkouda was an independent mare, and Lykos will admit that's the one good thing that her sister taught her. Be independent. Rely on no one but yourself to get you through life. From the moment Lykos was weaned, Arkouda was teaching her how to find her own food and water sources. It was just before her first birthday that her sister disappeared. Lykos is convinced that Arkouda abandoned her. On her own for the first time, Lykos struggled for the next year of her life to make it in the wild. Out of desperation, she began to move closer and closer to human civilization. This proved to be almost fatal, when a human shot at her, hitting her in the hip as she fled. The wound became infected. On her deathbed, Lykos was found by another, kinder human who managed to get the mare back to her little farm and heal her.

For the next few years, Lykos was a servant to this human. She hated it. She hated being a farm animal, working to plow the fields since the place they lived didn't have much in ways of big machinery - not that "her human" could afford it, anyway. From what Lykos gathered, the human was poor. The most precious thing she owned was Lykos herself. But Lykos felt no true bond with the human that had saved her life, and by her fourth birthyear, she was escaping back out into the wildlands. She has no regrets, leaving that small farm behind, but some days... some days she does miss the human.

Struggling for a month or so to acclimate back into the wildlands, Lykos somehow managed to make it through the perils of the wilderness. She survived on the bare minimum for most of her life in the wild. Traveling far and wide, she met many equines - not all of them friendly - and collected over the years scars that littered across her body. She showed no fear, no desperation for acceptance. She was a lone wolf, someone that could take care of herself, no matter the cost of it. She is willing to do anything to survive.
