uoma was born a voyage through the padomaic ocean from morrowind to pyandonea. his parents were seafarers and pirates, and he learned the basics of navigating the sea at young age, living most of his early life away from land. uoma's father was an esteemed maormer captain working for king orgnum, and his mother a dunmer spy allied with the maormer. his parents were loving but strict, wanting to make sure their son would follow his father's footseps in adulthood and someday become a high ranking member of the sorcerer-king's armada

as a teenager, after uoma's parents suffered an early end on one of the many assaults on summerset, uoma was left alone on pyandonea to fend for himself. he got into a gang of young thieves, and bonded with some of the other members for life. uoma's skills learned at the sea and his natural gift in magic made him a great survivalist.

uoma grew up to be a strict, sharp-witted pirate captain. to the disappointment of his parents he disliked the idea of being the king's puppet, and ran his own gang of pirates and cutthroats, taking jobs wherever they could get it; and they were succesfull. so succesfull, that pyandonean officials started to notice, and tried to get the hightide's men to join their ranks. uoma denied the offers a time and a time again, and his men remain independent.
