Valencia's earliest memories are of the sunlight hitting her face through the leaves of fruit trees. She lived in a small town surrounded by vast orchards raised by close-knit families like her own. When she grew up, most of her time was spent studying and experimenting with different types of fruit trees, especially grapefruit. She was always looking for ways to improve the yield and quality of her trees and her hard work paid off in the form of juicy, delicious grapefruit that were highly sought after. One day, Valencia received a letter from a famous horticulturist from another country, inviting her to participate in an international fruit-growing competition in a year's time. The competition would bring together the best pomologists from around the world. Valencia was thrilled at the opportunity and immediately set to work preparing for the competition, But after spending countless months breeding the largest, most nutritiously-dense grapefruit she could, she learned that the competition was weighted equally on both fruit quality... and martial arts.

Now in a panic, she enrollled at a kickboxing gym. Valencia found it challenging to balance her work as a pomologist with her new hobby of kickboxing. But with perseverance and dedication, she soon found that the two pursuits complemented each other. The discipline and focus she had developed as a pomologist helped her to excel as a fighter, and the physical activity helped her to stay in shape and remain focused on her work. She made breakthroughs in these completely different areas.
