Ethan was born into a religious family who continueously attempted to push their religion onto him. Time after time, he refused; he never really liked religion all that much.
When he was 7, him and his older brothers, who were both 11 at the time, were put into care for around a year due to inseficient funds to feed them all. His parents got them back as soon as they could though. During this time, Ethan's father was able to get a high=paying job as a doctor due to having more hours to spend working, and saved up a lot of money. They don't have to worry about money anymore.
Growing up, he never really felt comfortable in his body. He'd came to the conclusion that he was a male when he was 14, and came out to his parents at 16. He was expecting them to reject him due to their religious nature, but they were surprisingly okay with this new information. It may be someting that they did not believe in, they loved Ethan more and accepted his decision. They immediately bought him a binder, and once they can, will buy anything else nessicary.
Having religion being continueously pushed onto him, and going in to foster care both contributed to his delinguent-like and rebelious nature today. With he fostercare, it really hurt him even though the families were all very loving and nice. They just weren't his family, and that was what he wanted and needed at that time. Of course, he knows that his parents just couldn't aford to feed him, and that they wanted more than anything to have them back, but it doesn't make the hurt go away.
When he was 17, he met Virgil Evans, and quickly fell in love. Their meeting was very peculiar. Someone had beef with Virgil, and wanted to start some shit. Knowing that Ethan is very violent and no afraid to kick someones ass, told Ethan that Virgil had been slagging him off behind his back. Ethan, enraged, proceeded to storm over to where Virgil was sat in the playground, and stood in front of him. "Hey, so what's this I hear about you talking shit about me behind my back? Do you want to go? Because I'm not afraid to," Ethan had said. Virgil just looked up, unafraid, and replied, "I don't even know you, but if you wann fight, I'm not apposed to it at all." That shocked Ethan greatly. Normally people would be near tears and begging him not to, whilst simutainiously apoloiseing even if they had done nothing. He blinked, before asking "Do you smoke?" Virgil responded with yes, raising his eyebrow in confusion. Ethan sighed, before repeating himslef, with more emphasis on the 'smoke'. Virgil, now understanding what Ethan was refering to, rolled his eyes and said yes once more. Ethan sat down next o him and made two joints, and handed one to Virgil. The talked a bit until lunch was over, and became quick friends. Ethan respected Virgil for not backing down from him.
Eventually though, Ethan fell in love with him. He knew that he had no chance though, as Virgil was very much straight. But knowing this chnged nothing, and he's still in love with him to his day. Virgil knows about this, so he tries not to bring up anything to do with crushes aand love lives as to not upset his best friend. He just hopes that Ethan will be able to move on to someone who can make him happy.
Now, Ethan is in college studying astronomy, astrology, physics, and chemistry. He always tries his best to get top marks, rarely sleeping due to studying most of the time. All of his studying pays of though, as he's never gotten below an 87 in any of those subjects. |

He is intuitive and protective over his close friends. He is also stubborn, disobedient and and rebelious, bu he he can admit when he's wrong and apologise. A key characteristic that Ethan holds is his hotheadedness, or severe anger. This personality trait is quite evident, and he has no issue with expressing it. He is also quite narcissistic, and holds himself quie highly. Despite this, he tones this down around his friends as to not push them away. He cares too much about them to loose them. Presumably because of all these combined traits, Ethan can come off as abrasive or incredibly blunt. It is rare to see him at all sugarcoat his words. This straightforwardness allows Ethan to always be honest, but his bluntness tends to hurt others more than help them. Regardless of all these traits, if there's one thing Ethan is, it's definitely his willingness to help. No matter which friend he is talking with, it appears that Ethan's end goal is to always teach and help the others learn. He never has any ill-intentions towards his friends (with the exception of his lashing outs) in any sort of way, and it is blatant that he cares for them; In his own way, that is.
