Artist
life as a demon was never quite ideal for Melissa. She didn't fit in anywhere, and grew up rather lonely. She doesn't care for or agree with the demons' ideas for how they need to take over humanity and eradicate the angels.
When the humans that they supposedly want to serve get involved in the fights, neither demons nor angels will hesitate to use them as meat shields, and that's exactly what happens. Melissa, not wanting this human to die needlessly, puts herself between the demons and the angels; however, her comrades simply gunned her down with no hesitation.
Believing this moment to be her last, she's rather perturbed when she wakes up, definitely not dead, in the company of an angel - is she going to get tortured now?

Melissa is naturally suspicious of most other people; she doesn't trust anyone as far as she can throw them. She has a cynical outlook on life and doesn't care much whether she lives or dies.
She has a dry sense of humor. It comes out sometimes, especially when she is struggling or in a dangerous situation. When no one else cares about you, it is hard to care about yourself.
Somewhere deep in her heart, she has a lot of empathy. She cares for others but not so much herself, and would throw her life away to save another.

An odd, blunt angel who despite Liss' protests saves her from certain death.
Melissa, much to her chagrin, finds Iris very beautiful. If only her personalilty wasn't so bad, she'd be perfect. Still, she finds herself undeniably drawn to the strange angel.

She never really jived with her fellow people at all. They are much too unkind and heartless; it hardened Melissa's exterior quite significantly.
Generally, it seems that the world of demons and angels does not have room for someone like her. It is too cruel.
