Born into a high-class system and a wealthy family, one would assume that someone like Kya would have everything they would ever want in life. On the surface, yes, it seems to be the case; huge mansions, beautiful and expansive gardens, well-maintained grounds and what was basically a cavalry of security for good measure. The pressures of a life like this are often not visible, however. Much of the struggle comes from inside, from what happens behind closed doors and when the parties and meetings and gatherings are all over. The verbal battles between family members grow angrier and more aggressive with each day it seems, each one of Kya's siblings and both of his parents engaging in what was basically psychological warfare within the family in an attempt to gain control. He hates it. He despises it, but he has nowhere to go. So, trapped in the gilded walls of a house that has never felt like a home, he has to find his own ways of distracting himself.

But things have gotten worse and Kya no longer is able to fall back on the things he used to distance himself from the quarrels and arguments. He is too old to be able to escape the ever-watching gaze of his efficient and brutally methodical mother; he can't hide behind his older siblings anymore.

But he can't leave. He knows he could run, he knows he could take what few personal possessions he actually owned and flee, but where would he go? How would he survive? Even if there was a plan, or a way for him to do this, would he even be able to? His place was here. It was always here. After all, one has a responsibility to take care of family. Even if that means losing everything else along the way, it's worth it. It has to be worth it...doesn't it?
