trinette “trin” hollis-willowhale | she/her | ancient shrimpshifter | 8, born [created?] february 15th

trinette is an 8-year-old revived shifter, one of the first ancient shifters with such a young age to be revived. the scientists weren’t sure it would work, or that it may end up in an awkward situation of a child in adult’s body or vice versa. the process went through as intended, though whether this is a good or bad thing is debated. many already believe it is cruel to disturb those who have already lived, to subject them to the trauma of being haunted by their past lives and other souls used in creating their bodies; how much worse must it be to go through all that as a child?

trin is a very quiet, well-mannered girl who keeps mostly to herself. she used to live in the labs, and she went through a lot of testing to make sure she was alright and growing correctly. during this time in the labs she didn’t speak at all, though she wasn’t incapable of it, and instead wrote down or more often drew pictures to answer the scientists’ many questions. after a year and testing determining that she was as healthy as she could be, even if behind others her age developmentally, it was decided that trin should live outside of the lab.

she was adopted informally by byrd willowhale and seina hollis, who do everything in their power to make trin feel safe and cared for, even moving in together just to make sure she has a stable household. she began to come out of her shell as she lived with them, starting to talk even if it wasn’t to the degree of other kids her age, though she quickly clams back up again a few days before and after she’s made to go back to the lab for a check-up. trin has taken to calling byrd and seina her mamas, which brought the whole family to tears the first time it happened. 

she dreams often of the other people whose remnants were used to create her body. she has tried to tell others about the times that she has caught glimpses of those souls while awake, of the times that she thought she could hear them speaking to her, but nobody has cared much about it beside her mamas— she’s sure it would be of concern to the scientists in the lab as well, but she refuses to share with them and her mamas have promised not to say anything unless it becomes a big problem. trin clings onto a plushie of a cow that was her sole source of comfort during her time in the lab. she named it after being adopted only after she was told that it was something she could do, and it has been lovingly called “ms moo” ever since.
