Dr. Samuel Hayden

Samuel's human body heavily leaned into the "weak nerd" stereotype. He was small (5'4"), relatively weak, and got sick fairly easily. However, he took great care in his physical appearance, keeping a tidy and orderly exterior.

Samuel's cyborg body was built to contrasts the traits of his human body. It's taller (9'8"), strong enough to crush the forces of Hell with ease, and completely immune to illness. Self care became easier, now only needing to backup files each Sunday night. Interestingly, the design keeps the same eye-level as he would in his Maykr form.

Samuel presents a cold and professional exterior, burying his true thoughts and emotions behind practiced expressions. Only a select few will witness him crack a joke or enjoy something deemed 'childish'. He's also critical of others, though he does well to keep his snide comments to himself.

Samuel Thomas Hayden was born into the powerful Hayden family on January 24th, 2021. During his childhood, Samuel excelled in his studies, being deemed a prodigy by his teachers. His mothers, Dr. Melinda Hayden and Dr. Nicole Hayden were noted to be incredibly supportive and caring. Using their combined influence, the mothers were able to aid Samuel in getting a full scholarship to Oxford University.

During his overseas studies, Samuel earned his doctorate in theoretical physics. Not long after, he returned home to New York and started the Samuel Hayden Foundation– a group dedicated to encouraging and sponsoring young and promising scientists. Despite being elected leader of the Global Science Council and recently joining the UAC, he spent a considerable amount of time teaching at multiple universities. He is credited with many vital discoveries in thermodynamics, electromagnetic theory, and nuclear sciences.

At the age of 34, Samuel was made the chairman and CEO of the UAC. He immediately began construction of the UAC Atlantica facility, which provided critical work into solving the recent energy crisis. Construction of UAC Mars also began, alongside the necessary terraforming to make the air breathable.

During the construction of the Argent Tower, Samuel was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable brain cancer, leaving him with only a few months to live. Despite his increasing hospital stays, Samuel continued to make monumental discoveries in Argent plasma filtration. When his condition worsened, he began giving detailed instructions to create a 3-meter tall cyborg body for himself. Just before his 49th birthday, Samuel transferred his consciousness to his new body.

The transfer was hard on Samuel. During a televised press conference, Samuel began shaking and glitching out, stating that “This is hell” before promptly shutting down. It was decided that, for the time being, Samuel should step down as chairman, to which he obliged. Now Head of UAC Mars, Samuel continued constructing Argent tower and perfecting Argent energy.

Argent Tower was completed in 2127, along with a project hidden from the public– VEGA. The energy crisis had been solved, and the UAC became the sole provider of energy to the world. VEGA was assigned to oversee UAC Mars and the production of Argent energy. Samuel also adopted a protege during this period– Dr Olivia Pierce– to whom he became quickly fond of.

In 2145, Samuel led the first expedition into Hell. He returned alone, bringing an ancient sarcophagus with him. Between needing to focus on strengthening UAC Mars and the requests of multiple world leaders, Samuel appointed Olivia Pierce the leader of the Lazarus Project.

Only a few years later, in 2149, a Hell portal opened atop Argent tower. Samuel locked himself in his office, remotely opening the seal on the sarcophagus and awakening the Doom Slayer. Guiding the Slayer through the facility, the two successfully stopped the invasion, with the cost of stopping all production of Argent energy and the destruction of VEGA. Facing no other options, Samuel retrieved the demonic crucible and sent the Slayer away.

A year later, Samuel returned to Earth, presenting the demonic crucible to the Allied Nations Council. He proposed that he could use it to create synthetic, man-made Argent– strengthening the world against the ongoing demonic assault. In 2151, Samuel was appointed the head of the ARC. He acted swiftly, repurposing old UAC facilities for ARC projects.

With the Mobile Command Center built, Samuel ordered the ARC to begin searching for the origin of the Hellgrowth, alongside finding a way to seal the Hell portals. He began planning Operation Hellbreaker. The operation was later deemed a massive failure– leading to multiple casualties and the destruction of Samuel’s cyborg body. After being retrieved, ARC scientists struggled to put him back together– his body being too technologically advanced and “alien” to understand.

The Doomslayer returned a few months after Operation Hellbreaker, swiftly defeating two of the three Hell Priests. Needing help in finding the third, he retrieved Samuel’s body from the ARC Complex. His body being too destroyed to save, the Slayer transferred Samuel’s consciousness to the Fortress of Doom.

After the invasion was stopped, Samuel tried to continue ARC operations as normal, though his virtual prison made it incredibly difficult. He convinced the Slayer to go to UAC Atlantica, only to transfer his consciousness yet again, this time to the body of the Seraphim.
